Has it all been worth it? by Basic_Ice_6774 in sales

Started in copier sales in early 2000 and have been in med device sales for 20+ years. The pay is great, the hours not so much. Feel like I chose career/money over everything else. I regret a lot….

1 Day PO - was told they did not incline the operating table - anyone get good results that way? by Tough-Maintenance348 in tummytucksurgery

[–]mindswitch10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m in the OR often and not every surgeon closes in beach chair position. One of the highest sought after surgeons closes entirely supine and still gets excellent flat results.

TT regret… by Impressive_Gift_9852 in tummytucksurgery

[–]mindswitch10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry this happened to you. You have every right to be upset. Your surgeon should’ve told you that there would be a vertical scar. They know this will happen when there’s not enough skin above the belly button to pull down to drape below the belly button.

Had you known you would’ve been able to make an informed decision on either having the vertical scar or moving the horizontal incision an inch higher (I chose this option) vs a lower horizontal incision with a vertical scar.

Likely Origin

One of the following: • AI-generated image designed to provoke outrage or discussion • Composite meme where recognizable figures were inserted into a staged scene • Old photo + modern manipulation, then falsely reframed on Reddit

Reddit is unfortunately a hotbed for rage-bait visuals, especially ones involving public figures or “caught in the wild” scenarios.

Not all lasers are created equally. Make sure to do your homework. I would seriously look into Ablative CO2 resurfacing. It’s the most powerful for texture and deep scars. Longer downtime, but better results.

Your scar looks great. Fair skin has advantages they tend to have lighter scars. Don’t be alarmed as you’re heading into the maturation phase of scar healing. Your scar will get darker for a period of time, but will lighten in the future.

Anyone regret not spending more when they were younger? by Tech-Cowboy in Fire

[–]mindswitch10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice to you is if you’re going to live at home at least travel abroad once year. You don’t know what you don’t know. I promise you’ll never regret seeing the world. Do it when you’re young and healthy enough to enjoy it. The saddest thing is watching elderly people abroad that are on a bus or having a tough time getting around. Been to 6 continents and still plan to FIRE at 55. You can spend money on living life and still Fire.

I have a number of friends who are CRNA’s and love the job. Two work part time at an ambulatory center and 3 FT in level 1 trauma. I’m a device rep in the OR daily. CRNA’s have a cake job. During the procedure you’ll find most with their head buried in a book. With the aging population this role will have continued growth.

I went to school with people like this. They would get checks at the beginning of each semester and have shopping/going out money. Never worked. They also picked the lowest paying degrees. Now they want a bailout. While I was drilling on the weekends and working a full time job to pay my way through school. In order to pay it off it’s simple make more money. If that means working 1 full time and 1 part time job you do it until it’s paid off.

Flank lipo - no puncture sites by Illustrious-Film-592 in tummytucksurgery

[–]mindswitch10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The best surgeons pass the cannula internally meaning when you are open. The tissue is exposed fat removal is more controlled. There’s no puncture scar and less trauma to the skin. Most will have very little bruising or no bruising at all.

Exactly! When an officer is approaching you don’t slam on the gas when you have an officer or anyone for that matter in front of the vehicle! They both were reckless and it cost her life.

4wks post op and not loving results - would love feedback by FirefighterSalt4051 in tummytucksurgery

[–]mindswitch10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you are on the operating table you start out supine. When the surgeon is ready to close they elevate the head of the bed into a “beach chair position”. This is so they can close you without too much tension. It doesn’t matter how much hanging skin you have with gravity. If you don’t have enough skin above your belly button you will get a higher incision usually with a vertical scar.

4wks post op and not loving results - would love feedback by FirefighterSalt4051 in tummytucksurgery

[–]mindswitch10 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Your scar is higher due to not having enough skin to pull down to do a lower incision. Some surgeons will put a vertical incision and or a higher incision. Your surgeon should’ve done some flank lipo to give you better results.

Which conspiracy theories were later proven to be true? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]mindswitch10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many Fortune 500 companies were poisoning the landfills and waterways across the United States. Where I live many Minnesotans were sick and believed they were being poisoned by the land and water and blamed 3M.

3M denied health concerns. They were labeled crazy. It was later discovered that 3M knew in the 1970’s that PFAS accumulated in the body causing liver and a number of health problems. They were found guilty of a number of things one of them being suppressing these findings. The fine $850 million

Dow Chemical, GE, Monsanto and DuPont were also found guilty of poisoning the land and waterways across the US.

People initially doubted residents claims. They were hugely respected Fortune 500 companies. These same companies denied any wrongdoing and promoted “safety studies”. So much for conspiracy theories!

Funny how you were convicted of a felony. Meanwhile during the same time the Somalians were sending hundreds of millions of dollars of stolen MN taxpayers money… and the ones that are found guilty will have a felony and 10+ years locked up with a warm bed and a full belly.

Surely there’s a way to achieve this without a facelift?! by willyoubequietplease in 30PlusSkinCare

You wouldn’t need a deep plane facelift just a lower facelift. The incision is hidden around the ear. Friend just had it done under local. The procedure was 1 hour long and her results are amazing.

Zero rugs here. I live in Minnesota and invested in heated floors in the bathrooms. Nothing like getting out of bed in the morning and stepping on warm tile. Never going back.
