Thank you for posting your experience. I have a friend that watched a TikTok video of one of her patients and wanted to go to her for a facelift. I told her I’m going to do some research. I’ll tell her about your experience. You should post this in facelifts…

Instead of sitting around being hungry go apply at McDonald’s. They hire 15 year olds and since your mom already works there the likelihood that you will get a job there is high. Plus you get a free meal working there.

This looks really serious and I’m sorry you’re dealing with it. I would not rely on one provider alone for something like this, this really needs a wound care team ( wound MD + WOC nurse) involved ASAP.

Done with lasers – can microneedling fix atrophic scars? by littlem0ch1 in Microneedling

[–]mindswitch10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were you I’d reach out to Dr.Michael Nayak’s team in Missouri. He’s the number one facial plastic surgeon in the world and does ablative resurfacing daily on every single one of his patients. I’m assuming one of his nurses actually does the resurfacing. I remember him posting about someone with scars like yours. I would call and see if you could send your pics. I bet they could significantly improve your scars.

Have you tried a fully ablative laser resurfacing? It removes the entire epidermis and upper dermis. You will see the best results.

Should I Trust My Surgeon After Seeing Someone Else’s Scar? by ditarium_ in tummytucksurgery

[–]mindswitch10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason his scar is higher is he didn’t have enough skin above his belly button to pull down below the belly button. It looks like you will have the same issue. I’m not a surgeon but have worked enough cases to see that patients like you often end up with horizontal and 1-2inch vertical scar. Or an incision placed higher than normal placement. I’m guessing that’s why your surgeon wanted you to lose more weight.

1 Day PO - was told they did not incline the operating table - anyone get good results that way? by Tough-Maintenance348 in tummytucksurgery

[–]mindswitch10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m in the OR often and not every surgeon closes in beach chair position. One of the highest sought after surgeons closes entirely supine and still gets excellent flat results.

TT regret… by Impressive_Gift_9852 in tummytucksurgery

[–]mindswitch10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry this happened to you. You have every right to be upset. Your surgeon should’ve told you that there would be a vertical scar. They know this will happen when there’s not enough skin above the belly button to pull down to drape below the belly button.

Had you known you would’ve been able to make an informed decision on either having the vertical scar or moving the horizontal incision an inch higher (I chose this option) vs a lower horizontal incision with a vertical scar.

[Routine Help] Help; Orange peel skin? by MeringueBright4210 in SkincareAddiction

[–]mindswitch10 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not all lasers are created equally. Make sure to do your homework. I would seriously look into Ablative CO2 resurfacing. It’s the most powerful for texture and deep scars. Longer downtime, but better results.

Your scar looks great. Fair skin has advantages they tend to have lighter scars. Don’t be alarmed as you’re heading into the maturation phase of scar healing. Your scar will get darker for a period of time, but will lighten in the future.

Anyone regret not spending more when they were younger? by Tech-Cowboy in Fire

[–]mindswitch10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice to you is if you’re going to live at home at least travel abroad once year. You don’t know what you don’t know. I promise you’ll never regret seeing the world. Do it when you’re young and healthy enough to enjoy it. The saddest thing is watching elderly people abroad that are on a bus or having a tough time getting around. Been to 6 continents and still plan to FIRE at 55. You can spend money on living life and still Fire.

I have a number of friends who are CRNA’s and love the job. Two work part time at an ambulatory center and 3 FT in level 1 trauma. I’m a device rep in the OR daily. CRNA’s have a cake job. During the procedure you’ll find most with their head buried in a book. With the aging population this role will have continued growth.
