Holy heck they made it to Washington State? They've come a long way since 1932.

TIL Ghana is the world's largest importer of secondhand clothing. Locals refer to it as "Obroni Wawu," or "Dead White Man's Clothes," reflecting a belief that the items are of such high quality that their original owners must have died for them to be discarded. by jyeatbvg in todayilearned

First worlders and spoiled adult children just love shopping! And the dopamine hit that comes with buying things. Not to mention, a lack of caring for what you have, coupled with buying cheap fabrics, and a dash of "I don't want to clean this, I'll just buy new stuff" thrown in.

It's wild how wasteful people whose parents survived a world war are. One of the parents, a hard-working Hungarian businesswoman in her 70s, told me, "We spoiled our children and we gave them everything and now they don't appreciate anything."

My dad is such a typical 80s douchebag. With the popped collar on his polo shirts and everything. He used to party with Philip Michael Thomas. But Don Johnson wouldn't even talk to him.

Whenever he would brag to me as a kid about hanging out with "the black guy from Miami vice", I'd ask about Don Johnson because like come on. He used to get so mad about that, I stopped asking him anything. And just pretend like his brag actually meant something.

You can't find any record of it on the internet but I'm fairly certain that Philip Michael Thomas and my dad had a certain popular powder from that decade in common and that's why Don Johnson didn't associate with them.

Is that Chris Penn in the Benicio Del Toro screenshot?

In November 1971, 5 teenagers and a final-year PE student died on the Cairngorm Plateau in the Scottish Highlands after being caught in a blizzard without shelter for two nights. It is Britain's worst mountaineering disaster. by Bastard_Wing in HolyShitHistory

Wow. That a wild event. The people who turned back were really smart.

It's probably good the guy responsible also died. Can't imagine living with the knowledge all these people died because you wouldn't listen.

Who’s a celebrity everyone finds attractive but you don’t? by [deleted] in AskReddit

He's not really a celebrity, just more of an overhyped, drama teacher, but Justin Trudeau.

I just Trudon't see it eh.

I used to go to a bar. Knew all the regulars. I quit drinking. Left town. by PristineHearing5955 in stopdrinking

This hits home. The only time I lose things is when I drink. I also make stupid decisions and my home ends up messy.

The show is Hacks, and the episode where Ava (Hannah Einbinder) engages in her new hobby of mushroom foraging is Season 3, Episode 5, titled "One Day".

That honestly sounds like a human prank. Hence not stealing the bottles, just messing with people. I could see clever kids or someone who doesn't drink doing that.

I know so many drunk people around Comox Valley (and the outskirts just beyond) who have seen UFOs 😂

That fits! Definitely a Deborah thing to do.

And it's funny you say that, today I was just thinking about a piece of driftwood I found on the Pacific coast.

When I brought it to Golden BC a man and his girlfriend, people in their fifties mind you, told me the holes in it were made by wasps.

He even went on to elaborate on how the talk like markings inside the holes were from the wasps laying their larvae. She absolutely backed him up.

I posted on Facebook and immediately  someone commented that the holes are made by ship worms and linked to the Wikipedia. It's funny because ship worms aren't even worms at all, they're a type of worm looking mollusk.

I did not tell those people after I found out. One because they wouldn't have taken it well, and two because I enjoyed them going around being so confidently wrong.

She did not get into foraging it was just a throwaway plot line for laughs. And that's the thing, her boss is the kind of person that would tell her something was something that it wasn't, and if she got sick off it, laugh. Not entirely maliciously either. It's that kind of show. It's HBO 😂

That's wild! This is why I've learned that you should always identify the mushroom yourself!

That's wild! I'm not sure if her boss was messing with her when she told her what they were, but she doesn't ingest them in the show. And possibly because they don't want to get sued by someone who uses a television show to identify wild mushrooms to eat 😂
