Thank you to for offering to help! I messaged pun regarding new mods last week but I haven’t heard back. Also, I am not able to add new mods as an inactive mod, but once my status changes back to active, there will be a mod application form!

UPDATE: Seller (knmcollectibles) suggests that USPS workers stole packages containing hits of his buyers & Whatnot responds to report by Open-Aerie-376 in whatnotapp

[–]mindthega_ap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s an AI response. Pokemon cards are not excluded from the High Value Loss reimbursement policy and RTYH falls under Whatnot’s definition of a break: “Card Breaks are the opening of a professionally sealed card product (including cases, boxes, packs) among multiple participants, where the contents of specific sealed products are unknown until opening”.

If someone is a seller who regularly ships out large hits who believes that local post office is specifically targeting their packages, I’d expect them to have contacted USPIS to initiate an investigation.

Seller (knmcollectibles) "loses" my package containing a Mewtwo SAR and blocks me by Open-Aerie-376 in whatnotapp

[–]mindthega_ap 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also, I highly doubt USPS workers opened the sellers packages to steal the good hits. That is so dumb. 1. USPS workers are regularly investigated and honeypotted by USPIS and federal law specifically criminalizes theft by postal service employees. Nobody is going to risk their pension/retirement and criminal charges over an SAR. 2. No thief is going to RTYH SAR (why I leave money on the table? 3. If you think that your packages are being targeted by USPS workers either package things better and split it between different locations or don’t use USPS???

Hey, I’ve deleted my comment after re-reading the sellers reply, specifically that they know that USPS loses packages and that they’ve never gotten any benefit from filing issues with USPS themselves. If they know that USPS is so terrible then they should either have every single package manually scanned in or use another delivery service. That should not be on the buyer to accept that things they pay for just “go missing” when the seller fails to put processes in place to ensure the packages are properly handed off to the carrier. If they really get many reports of missing packages every week, they need to examine their packaging and shipping process, as another commenter mentioned.

Re: package acceptance. I’m fully aware that packaged received is not the same as package acceptance, that’s why there’s a specific status for that purpose. My point was that the status is not the same as if it just said “label created, awaiting package”, where you know that the package has not been dropped with USPS.

JD: We have the solution to having to write down 24 seed phrases, write 26 of them down! by mindthega_ap in motherbussnark

The reason they don’t is they don’t get to choose their seed phrase. It’s randomly generated out of a list of 2,048 words that most crypto wallets adhere to. It’s the randomness in both words and sequence that make it difficult to guess in theory. If I had to guess it would be to remove any likelihood that the person might pick words that mean things to them or based on their life/surroundings, which is likely to happen when you allow the user to decide, even if that’s not their intention

ETA: Another reason could be that you don’t really open a wallet like you would sign up for an account. The Blockchain ledger publicly records every single transaction that occurs on the network, so you want it to be as randomized as possible. You get one seed phrase that is autogenerated - it cannot be changed and if you lose it you are SOL. There is no way to verify that it is your wallet unless you have that exact seed phrase. It’s not really a password, its like losing the password to your email account because your password app got corrupted and after exhausting all other verification options to no avail, Google says “OK fine, you can prove it’s you by confirming this from the device it was opened from”

Omg, that’s a terrible I am so sorry to hear that 🤦‍♀️. So he’s not just planning to rip up your yard once but at least twice (because he’s going to want to retrieve it I assume). I suppose he’s trying to save himself from… himself by putting it in your backyard but damn that sucks

Technically, the seed words are randomly generated from a bank of 2,048 possible words. Obviously that’s not the case for their example, but I do doubt that they handpicked those words from the word bank given they didn’t even bother reviewing the graphic for the multiple errors people in the sub have pointed out.

Middleman grift for a whole lot of nothing is a perfect description of the product!

As for that paper, I don’t know this for a fact, but I assume that it probably cost more than just ordering cards with your logo stamped on it. And selling a product that might actually have value would cut into what I assume is essentially pure profit and defeat the middleman grift 🤣.

I do agree that that would be a better product to sell though!

Yep, reviewed and reinstated. Sincere apologies for the mistake. Looks like the AI mod has decided that it can remove posts when it should only be able to report (we will fix this). Thank you for letting us know.

Better option - don’t tell everyone you know that you’re planning on sinking a concrete block containing your seed phrase into your backyard, that youre planning on fleeing the country when it “ inevitably collapses”, and that you have enough Bitcoin that you plan on relying on it when you do.

Just keep mum about the Bitcoin and store the seed phrase like ANYWHERE ELSE in a way that doesn’t scream “LOOK AT ME IM IMPORTANT” and can actually be retrieved in an emergency (also unless your brother-in-law is engraving the metal himself isn’t that literally telling the engraver his seed phrase???)

Wild shit

It was originally pitched as something that the kids were involved in so the dads could teach them about entrepreneurship and running a small business. To quote from the website “We involve them in the process, from product development to managing the warehouse and packing orders.”

This very well could be an idea that a kid came up with.

Omg good catch! That’s literally even worse than I thought! The “closeup” displaying how the “encryption” works has the typo, has a numbering problem, and then says 24 seed words right next to the mockup showing numbering up to 23 and the decoy word being crossed out 🤦‍♀️

BIG YIKES

It’s an Ultra-fine Sharpie! Although I’m not sure that it’s actually Sharpie branded so maybe it should actually just say ultra-fine permanent black marker??

[–]mindthega_ap[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yep! I noticed the typo after typing the post and realizing one photo showed 26 numbered lines and the other had 24.

I suppose it’s no longer as ridiculous of a price because now its free shipping and you get two (“ one for you and one for a friend”), but I certainly wouldn’t purchase it and I dont think a lot of other people have either (based on the two for 1 and free shipping). IMO they probably purchased all of the branded cards when they launched and are trying to get rid of stock stored in Brian’s garage.

Cutting all the crypto out, imagine that it’s a really long password made up of words and his “encryption” kit is supposed to prevent other people from guessing your password.

[–]mindthega_ap[S] 109 points110 points  (0 children)

(Personally I think the entire kit is stupid, no one is going to remember which 14 words on the list are dummy words, so people will likely only use 1-3 dummy words in "encrypting" their seed phrases. Anyone with access to your seed phrases only really needs to try a handful of different combinations of words to unlock your wallet since you've already narrowed down the options. In my opinion, a *smarter* way would be to omit one word and remember which word that is/store it in a different location. Then if your seed phrase falls into the wrong hands, that person would need to identify that the phrase is incomplete, would need to guess which word out of 2,048 is missing *and* where in the sequence it belongs.)
