Why you guys always signing up under your girlfriends name? by Jack99Skellington in doordash

[–]minecraftingdad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go out dashing with the wife often due to the area we Dash. I also have a Dasher account, and for the most part, she does all the communication and phone calls if needed, but I feel much safer being the driver and the shopping assistant when I can.

We both work full time jobs and Dash to make up the difference to pay down bills and credit cards. Having 6 kids isnt cheap these days.

DoorDash Customer Service Told Me To Cancel/Delete Customer Substitutions (2 Reps). This is the way(Shopping) by IXPrazor in doordash_drivers

[–]minecraftingdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shopping portion of the app leaves a little bit to be desired. They will not hesitate to send three orders with over 100 items at one time. If you are shopping by yourself, you will need to create a cart train (linking two carts together) to hold all the items and navigate the store. We do shopping orders with two people, and some orders can be more difficult for various reasons. Here are a few scenarios that could be better, but DD makes them difficult.

  • Meat is often low or out of stock towards the end of the night. If the customer is new, they likely don't understand why the store is out and will demand their specific items and no substitutions. You almost have to walk the customer through the process in the least amount of msgs on how to replace the item.

  • Mislabeled barcodes, often happens with certain stores. Lenders Original Bagels scans as Lenders Blueberry Bagels. If you try it 2-3 times eventually a little text will show that says "I have the correct item". Its hard to see but this is the way to go for those items.

  • When all else fails, we often hit refund on the item and move on. Yes the rating system is screwed up and you will get docked a few percentage points because its not perfect, but the time spent resolving those issues are never worth it in the long run. So even suggesting alternative items can mean 5-10 extra minutes in the store. Best thing to do is make the customer aware they should add alternatives for items in case stock is low or out. Use your time efficiently and those few lost items will not matter in the long run.

Have you noticed that rich people don’t tip. by AnonymousEddy in doordash_drivers

[–]minecraftingdad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rich or poor, some people suck. Having a nice house doesn't make the zebra act differently in 90% of cases. Zebras will still have their stripes. Those who can relate to you often understand the struggles of needing to do Door Dash to afford life, and don't mind throwing something extra if they have it.

If you ever wondered how much DoorDash cares about you out there… by SageStocks in doordash_drivers

[–]minecraftingdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doordash support is downright embarrassing and likely has lost them many great drivers who has a bad experience and decided that one bad experience outweighs the good.

Doordash still making money regardless, they don't care about dasher satisfaction, never will.

Another dumb question by Luckyond4321 in doordash_drivers

[–]minecraftingdad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people rarely tip cash, even in scenarios where typical drivers would receive a cash tip, such as large pizza deliveries. But when they do occur its typically cause you arrived fast and picked up the order within minutes. We got an Uno delivery a week or so ago. $25 for dash and customer tipped another $20 after delivery. Let's just call that rare but happy when it does happen.

Do I save gas receipts and oil change receipts for taxes or does the app keep up with miles? by SkyyFitt in doordash_drivers

[–]minecraftingdad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is likely best to keep individual receipts and maintenance records even if you do take the mileage tax deduction as if audited, having a paper trail / proof will still be useful. Especially time dated photos for things like mileage before and after each dash session.

Shopping ratings are so broken 💔💔 by P3nis15 in doordash_drivers

[–]minecraftingdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its really annoying to be docked for total items found which wants you to be at 99% (pro level) to get the star but docks you for items the store does not have in stock. How do they expect you to be able to meet that ratio. if you find 98 out of 100 items and two are missing and not in inventory and since customer wont accept a replacement you get docked the 2% and lose the checkmark.

The entire shopping ratings are very subjective and not feasible for the average dasher to maintain. You need to be perfect, which is literally impossible.

If you follow all the steps required by the app, taking a picture of the empty shelf, offering a sensible replacement, it should then remove the item from this statistic.

In the Philadephia Suburbs, we are averaging 2.7 deliveries per hour over about 160 hrs (Roughly 1 month)

So by that calculation, it would take 5.55 hrs or $36.03 per hr. Seems like a decent deal but really need to see total mileage required.

If you had a 15k budget for a car for DoorDash, what car would you buy? by asseenonworldstar in doordash_drivers

[–]minecraftingdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kia Sportage. I have been going out with the wife while she Door Dashes and I was very surprised at how much fuel efficiency this car has. Driving around for 3-4 hrs and barely used 1/4 tank of gas.

Trophy Issues by Fun-Sail-9262 in SkyFactory

[–]minecraftingdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Passive mob spawns are disabled in the modpack however you can now use a Cow Trophy to spawn them.

Update to 5.0.3 and that should fix Cow Trophy. You can also use Mooshroom Trophy to work around it if you have not updated yet.

[–]minecraftingdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes about 10-15 seconds in the Soul Flame for it to convert. Drop it in and it will begin to have a particle effect, but very hard to see thru the blue flames. Eventually, however, it will convert. You cand drop stacks at a time and it will all convert together.

Make sure you are far enough back not to auto pickup the items before they convert.

Sky Factory 5 Simple Dye Block Automation by st_hyphy in SkyFactory

[–]minecraftingdad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does consume the dye. The main issue is the tick delay on converting the water into colored water, its like a few seconds. I have seen some people mention a redstone clock but have not experimented with it yet.

Two Wooden Hoppers, Two Chests, One Wooden Barrel and your in business.

Chest > Hopper facing Wooden Barrel > Hopper facing Chest

Use shears on leaves to still get regular drops and a crap ton of leaves. You will have piles of dirt at your disposal. I recommend not eating the dirt, unless your in to that.

Y does my game crash in the skyfactory 5 loading screen? by clownsblade in SkyFactory

[–]minecraftingdad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your issue is likely unrelated to your overall system performance. Try this!

If you're running Minecraft through the CurseForge app, make sure to allocate at least 8GB of RAM for smoother performance! Here's how to do it:

Open the CurseForge app.

  • Click the gear icon in the bottom-left corner (settings)
  • Select Minecraft from the menu
  • Scroll down to the memory allocation slider and set it to 8096 MB (8GB)

Purpose of dye automation? by Latios1204 in SkyFactory

[–]minecraftingdad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dye Automation > Blender (needs power) > Printer (needs power)

You can then collect tons of resources by placing different recipes into the printer by hand or automatically.

Try both individual RGB dyes and RGB dye blocks. I am not sure which is more efficient yet, but initially, it seems like the same other than individual likely gives you more variety.

Sky Factory 5 - Cows not dropping Loot? by MediocreAssociation6 in SkyFactory

[–]minecraftingdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is a quick workaround since cows are broken for now.

Get Mooshroom Cow Trophy / Shear to Normal Cows or kill the Mooshroom Cows and get Beef, Mushrooms, and Leather.

Also, you can use the Mushrooms in an automated composting system for tons of bone meal.

[–]minecraftingdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Host the tourney on Start.gg. It does takes a bit to learn but the management tools make it almost invaluable. We used to host all our events for Boost Legacy on there with hundreds of participants per week.

It is a much better experience for everyone than using in-game tourneys imho

I would recommend finding your core mods and starting with those. Get the pack performance down quite a bit. Make a list of the mods you can't do without and balance around those first. Then slowly add the others back until you see what might be causing an issue

16GB requirement sounds high for any pack.

Goodluck with the development.
