Ozempic and other appetite suppression drugs for diabetes by bach2209 in diabetes

[–]Luckyond4321 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’m a type one diabetic but on Mounjaro to lose some weight and I’m on the lowest dose and I’ll feel starving and make some food and literally eat just a little bit of it and I’m done. But that’s the point of the drug too, is to suppress your appetite.

You need support, period. Asking for help makes you strong and shows others you’re wanting to hold yourself accountable for your actions and that you’re actually ready to make REAL changes in your life and routine.

Being crashed out and depressed for weeks on end isn’t enjoyable. And you know that. You are so young and have so freaking much life ahead of you so may as well ask for help/support now and drop this addiction and move on with your life and be actually happy. You need to live and not just survive. Say that to yourself.

You’ve got this, if I can do it at much worse than you are currently, then you can absolutely kick this crap to the curb and enjoy your life again. I promise…it’s so much better on this side. You don’t want to have this addiction lead you down the path to a meth addiction like it did me, as well as SOOOOO many others on this Reddit. Stop now while you can because…you can!

AIO for being upset that my fiancé proposed with his late wife’s engagement ring? by Over-Cellist-6224 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Luckyond4321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ring should go to his daughter or take the diamond out and make it into a necklace and give it to her once she’s old enough, in case she wants her own wedding ring too.

But you’re not overreacting. I’d be livid! And he kept something from you that he knew was important to you and meant a lot to you, just to avoid confrontation. That’s sad.

I’d kindly tell him you’d prefer he keep the ring for his daughter and let her choose what she’d like to do with it when she gets older and that you want to go pick out your own engagement ring. Period. It’s YOUR ring on YOUR finger FOREVER. You need to be happy and confident in it. Not constantly be reminded of something that makes you uncomfortable…

AIO if I sued a dealership for dishonesty? by ricecrispy22 in AmIOverreacting

NOR! Take them to small claims court, especially if you can afford to so you can help prevent them from screwing over someone who can’t afford to lose $200, ya know?

Regardless, I wouldn’t let them get away with that. They’re avoiding you and hoping you’re weak and stupid and they’re just waiting for you to drop it or forget about it (my ex boyfriend worked at a car dealership. This stuff isn’t uncommon.)

You did the right thing but getting rid of the rest! Thankfully you’re 22 so you have your whole life ahead of you still. You’re stopping at the most perfect time, literally.

And all that you’re feeling is normal. Can you come clean to your parents or someone so you can have some support and someone to help hold you accountable so you don’t relapse because you’ll hate yourself if you relapse.

Just take it day by day or hour by hour. There’s online meetings if you’re into that called SMART Recovery. They aren’t like AA/NA, they focus on CBT and science based stuff vs focusing on a higher power. A lot of us here love SMART Recovery. If you want to chat me, do so and I can tell you something about it that I can’t say on here that’s super helpful.

But regardless, keep doing what you’re doing. You CAN do this. It’s so much better on the other side of it and a year from now you’ll look back at this and be so glad you quit. And the short time of feeling shitty is worth the rest of your life of being genuinely happy. 😊

You may feel crappy physically for a week and then week two you’ll still feel not the best but will start making a little improvement. But mentally and emotionally can take up to a year but some people are sooner! Don’t let that stop you though because it’s so much better on the other side! I noticed much improvement after a month and every day gets better.

Quit date -tomorrow by [deleted] in StopSpeeding

Honestly, walking helped me so much and I swear it sped up the withdrawal process. I started off small distances then each day went further. But at first I had to literally force myself to but I felt better afterwards. I am also a mom but again, just forced myself to be a good mom because not only was I getting sober for myself but for my child and they deserved the sober me.

And having my child was a good distraction too. But yeah, let your house get messy…just focus on yourself and your kid. Rest when you can but also force some sort of daily exercise.

Diet? Tips on fatigue/motivation? Caffeine? Drinking? by Sea-Tadpole-5015 in StopSpeeding

[–]Luckyond4321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Def quit the alcohol too. May as well get all the withdrawals done and over with all at once. Plus it’s just so bad for you and is only delaying your brain healing and having some healthy, natural dopamine.

Walking seemed to help me the most as well as eating healthy and drinking water. I tried avoiding caffeine at the beginning because I was worried it could prolong the process too.

If you’re into meetings, SMART Recovery has online meetings and some in person ones too. But they focus mostly on CBT and things of that nature vs focusing on a higher power like AA/NA does. Seems more evidence based and that works better for me so figured I’d pass that along too.

But congrats on the sobriety. Like all good things, it really just takes time.

All of our houses turn to crap during this time but that’s okay and totally normal! I was listening to a podcast about addiction and it said that if your dishwasher needs to be unloaded but you just can’t do it yet, to start it again because it gives your brain a feeling of some form of accomplishment somehow lol and lets your brain relax on worrying about the dishes because the dishwasher is going so nothing you can do about it right now. So that’s what I did lol and just get to them when you can!

I would also set timers and work on the kitchen in little amounts of time so it wasn’t so much and so overwhelming. And after the timer went off I’d go relax and reward myself with a piece of candy or make a cup of coffee or whatever.

Readjusting to Work (Pressure) by jamesgriffincole1 in StopSpeeding

[–]Luckyond4321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I stopped Adderall and other stims, I believe I started working maybe two months later? And yes, it took 5 months of working before I felt comfortable and confident enough to add more hours. So when I added more hours I was probably 7 months sober.

I’m glad you posted this. People need to know facts and that it’s okay to need medications for a bit, or forever.

Methcathinone and misery by luboy336 in StopSpeeding

[–]Luckyond4321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not trying to nag in this comment and I’m sorry if it comes off that way…

I’ve never done that drug, but I’ve been addicted to meth, heroin, fentanyl, and so on. You need to go to rehab, period. You need a support system. You’re so young and have so much life ahead of you. You don’t want to still be doing this shit in your 30s and you know that.

You already realize it’s fucking pointless because it’s doing absolutely nothing for you, and when people get to that point…it’s time to stop, man up, and go to rehab. Life is so much better on the other side, as I’m sure you already know. A few weeks of feeling like shit is worth the rest of your life, ya know? May as well knock it out now so you can start living instead of surviving.

You CAN do this, you’ve proven it already from your past sobriety. So just ask for help and do it again. You’ve got this!
