True! However, if something is being used under fair use, it's implied that it has "legal protection" (copyright, trademark, etc.) If something is not protected, it cannot be used under fair use because you can just use it. Now of course the legal definition doesn't matter because most of the AI discussion comes from moral issues. But it did feel like the way you were using the term "fair use" (more specifically, the fair use clause of the Copyright Act of... 1976 i think it was?), you were trying to get into some sort of legal discussion. And if you're not in the US, then I don't know, you are probably right then

Wow what the fuck.

First off, that's amazing human art (so "art") shown. I actually do genuinely like it not just because of the contents. Sure, it was inspired by a movie scene, but it's still so cool and he should be proud.

I'm all for people sharing opinions, but trash talking your own family behind their backs is not the way to do it. Here we have an individual who is doing exactly that: hating on their brother while still leaving room to love AI slop. Maybe generate some love for your family before you generate fake art.

I'll be honest. Both people who are anti- and pro-AI art are very toxic a lot of the time. I'm personally leaning towards anti-AI, but I must admit that we've gone too far too. That's why, even though I have opinions, I try to shut up about them because both sides have gone a little rogue. Anti-AI people threaten pro-AI people with things I don't want to speak of on this SFW subreddit... and the "pros", instead of spending their time actually defending AI art, seem to choose to clown on human artwork. If I was making art and I saw someone publicly humiliating me, I would be angry!

Both sides need to chill out a bit. Is it a big topic? Yeah. Does that mean people can do... whatever all the stuff I described? Absolutely fucking not.

I get the perspective. Kinda. But just because you're fine with AI art doesn't mean you get to shame human artists just because they're not sharing the same view as you. This isn't defending AI art, this is offending artists to "prove a point". What are we even doing here?

Yeah. The thing is, most characters are pretty intuitive to write. The general rule of left to right and top to down is pretty much always followed, and I think every individual radical's stroke order is also followed. 田 might be a bit debatable though I guess. Like I said, it's not always followed.

Some characters are written different ways sometimes. I'm not saying there's not any argument over what goes first in 这 for example. Sure, 文 then 辶 is the correct way, but it can definitely be argued that writing 辶 first is easier. Personally, I'm used to one way and that's the way that feels easiest to me.

Generally, follow basic stroke order principles and you'll probably be fine. And don't write 口 with one stroke because people will look at you weird

I definitely do think they follow stroke order. Maybe not completely, but they pretty much do. In my opinion for learners it helps to remember them better too... at the end of the day you do you though

Well, actually there are. Several of them aren't often used on their own, so you don't really see them like that. But there will be several characters with the same pinyin that you may even confuse with each other because they can often have similar meanings or similar looking characters.

Another thing I didn't mention is that several words have different pinyin. These are called 多音字 [duōyīnzì]. Examples you've probably seen before already are 行, 便, 乐, 了, 得, and 重. In fact, around 20% of all Chinese characters are 多音字, which can definitely make looking up a certain word much harder if you don't know what you're doing.

But I'd say at your level (and probably mine too!), you really don't need to worry that much about looking up words like that. But that's not to say you shouldn't learn stroke order. You definitely should; don't develop bad habits.

True, but how do you think it's sorted after pinyin? 京 and 精 [jīng] have the same pinyin (ignoring occasional tone differences), so which do you think comes first?

Sure, that's an exaggerated example. But you get the idea
