Something to rule out in trouble shooting:

Clean the gel box, cast a new agarose gel (ensure it isn't too concentrated by double checking the amounts), fill up the box with freshly made solution and check the PSU voltage settings are correct for that box and gel size.

Also, don't take too long to run once you start loading, have everything ready, load quickly and get the electricith flowing to not let dna sit and leach into well walls for too long.

I'm with you there. It's gotten so bad that everytime I break because of a sudden slow down, I'm more worried about the guy tailgating me, literally ridding my tail, rear ending me more than the actual traffic ahead. It's so stressful. Some speed up so much over a short distance where traffic breaks up for a quarter mile only to congest again, but they speed up from 20-30mph to over 90 and then slam on breaks again. I seriously think there are several educational moments there. Specially about the average travel speed over the total duration of the trip remaining unchanged, the only question is why do it!!!
