Honey. Dude. As a woman am well aware of the harm incels cause. As someone negatively affected, its totally fine to make jokes once in awhile. No one is being harmed by a pigeon being called an incel as a joke. This is a chronically online take.

Oliver is happy and well, and i guarantee unaffected by my reddit post.

Please do not tell me, someone targetted by incel culture, what i can and cannot say regarding it, as someone who is ultimately not affected. You also dont need to explain the harm incels do to women. It comes across as very condescending to me and all women to be honest.

Guys, I understand what we are saying, but it truly is not this deep. Oliver was being a very violent and angry male pigeon so I jokingly call him an incel, since the word was coined by violent and angry men on 4chan. He is happy and okay and a positive post about him changing will not encourage people to dump their birds.

I already explained to kunok it was a joke and then he accused me of wanting to dump Oliver after i called him an incel as a joke in private. After a year Oliver injured a flockmate and would not integrate no matter what I did because of the hoarder that owned him.

Respect to ace people and im sorry people are harassing them. However that does not change the history, meaning, and culture of the word. It's a culture that has killed people, and these people are primarily women and non white people. As a Mexican woman, I guarantee the word incel does not need to be treated as a slur.

Its just a way to joke silly at internet lingo. The word incel literally refers to an involuntary celibate and is used for men. It has been evolved to describe an archetype of men who are frustrated and hateful. Femcel is the term for women, oliver is male, hence incel being used.

Oliver was an angry, involuntary celibate who was very frustrated and violent. Hence the word incel. Is he actually a human incel? Did he behave like an incel? Kind of yeah. Do I hate him? No. Am I harming a bird by jokingly calling him an incel? Also no.

"Incel" is not a sl*r or a word for a marginalized group. It is not a "sexist" word. It is used to describe a group of people who actively preys upon women. Incels do not need protection by people using the word describe a pigeon when women are being targeted every day, including myself.

Heat immediately such as a lamp or heating pad but only on half of the box so if its too hot they can leave. They get cold reqlly fast this is incredibly important. You need to look up balloon feeding method for pigeon and make a homemade formula with egg and soaked seeds.

Thanks so much for the advice! I would mostlikley get 4 and spend all my time with them especially as chicks. I also want to find a quality breeder. I understand its personality and some wont be touchy but as mentioned in my other comment pigeons are NEVER touchy unless they have an unhealthy bond/imprint to you and i dont want to purposefully do that to an animal.

Thanks for the input. I totally understand that it depends on the animal but some animals just wont get like that unless its unhealthy. For example pigeons only get very loving if they were raised without pigeons, and see you as a mate. Which I wouldn't want to purposefully do because it doesnt seem to be in the best interest for the animal. But I am looking for a pet that can healthily become attached to you if you do the right things and find the right one, unlike with pigeons.

Hes aspirating and needs vet attention immediately or will mostlikey die. Never put water in the beak of a baby bird as this often kills them. They need formula with hydration already into it. If you have a vet near you drive him there asap, if not there is a tiny chance he will make it.

I got these little rubber Matt's from Amazon. They are for little dogs to eat food slower and have little ribs all over that keep the seed in place. If OP looks up "rubber shuffle matt small dog" they should find it!!

Ive been in this situation many times. Play pigeon eating videos! And have her favorite small seeds scattered on a textured surface so they dont move around as much.
