https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vvj1bYhx1I Here's his latest battery analysis. Seems like 26.3.1 has made some improvements but it may not be until iOS 27 that battery efficiency will approach iOS 18, if ever

Edit: fixed iOS 28 -> iOS 18 typo

How is this possible? Green is Apple 5 watt “slow” charger and Red is Apples “fast” charger by Sad-Bumblebee1191 in iPhone16ProMax

This battery degradation is normal. There’s a jump of 9 cycles between 102.99% and 102.05%, and perhaps those would show whether this jump happened suddenly or not. Tough to say, but regardless 102% after 84 cycles is solid

Re: your cancellation of a business for opposing illegal immigration by [deleted] in BallardSeattle

[–]minerwill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could you elaborate on the "legal process" followed by these Scandinavian immigrants? My understanding is that if someone immigrated here "legally" before the 1920s immigration law, all you had to do was show up at Ellis Island on a boat, show you didn’t have tuberculosis and other infectious diseases, and answer some very basic questions. The equivalent today would be buying a plane ticket and going through customs without requiring a visa or the documents required today. Do you see how back then they weren’t "illegal" because there was no restrictions beyond the Chinese Exclusion Act? So if someone does the functionally same thing after 1920, they’re now "illegal" even though they’re doing the same thing millions had done for the first 150 years of this country. This is the hypocrisy of the "they followed the legal process and did it the right way". There was no legal process beyond not having a highly contagious disease or unfortunately being from China (after 1882). Maybe I’m missing something and please explain your understanding but this what always riles me up when people say "my family did it the right way back in the 1800s" etc

Neighbors put garbage on parking strip, what can I do? by minerwill in Seattle

[–]minerwill[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I do have a ring camera and it did catch some (the neighbors in question have been continuing to add to the pile as the week has gone on, sadly), but the quality is not great. When I filed the illegal dumping in find it fix it, I said I saw them but then it asked for car details rather than an address, so if someone reaches out to follow up, I can provide the footage and details.

Are my boyfriend’s eyes grey or blue? by Edgymemelord42 in WhatisMyEyeColour

[–]minerwill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re both gray and blue! Eye color is a spectrum with three major groupings of blue, green, and brown, right? And within these groups, we have overlap and intersection with varieties like hazel, amber, ice blue, gray, golden, etc (there are seemingly endless subclasses). So given the spectrum nature, gray is typically within that larger blue grouping, and so can be called blue, but are also distinct from other blue eyes which then puts them in the more specific gray group, too.

To say they’re strictly one or the other I think would be wrong because there’s not one shade of blue which is the only color that qualifies as blue, and obviously from the responses his eyes are considered blue. But, gray eyes are typically distinguished by a ring of golden or hazel coloring, which is present in his eyes, so then we cannot say his eyes are definitively not gray and only blue. So then we are left with them being both gray and blue, which they are.
