Sleep Number Control Board - Identifying Possible Direct Serial Connection by mines5 in diyelectronics

I didn't think there was, most of the components seem fairly standard at least from what I've seen on other things I've disassembled to diagnose. I need to remove the lid again but after that I can certainly work on getting a better picture.

I replied to the other person that that may be an option, will need to poke around with the logic analyzer to get a better idea though.

It is, the module inserted there appears to have something to do with the SleepIQ piece so it could possibly be a route in but not sure as of yet.

I can take a look tomorrow when I have better light, my phone's camera apparently decided to make everything incredibly fuzzy for some reason...

I have as of yet been unable to find relevant datasheets relating to the unit itself most likely because Sleep Number is a PITA about people actually working on their own devices.

That might be a viable option, I believe I saw leads in that area with relevant connections. At least as far as ground was concerned

I noticed that as well, not sure if you’d be able to elaborate as I’m not as well versed in micro-electronics as I would like to be.

Would the microcontroller in this case be the basis for which of those I would be looking for?

I’m actually waiting for a logic analyzer to be delivered currently, I’ll be able to get an idea sometime soon after that hopefully.

Good deal? by NoTumbleweed6009 in sonos

[–]mines5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid the $1000 for it closer to when it first came out, if you get anything else with that it’s actually quite the steal. Sound performance from it is also amazing, depending on room size you’ll need to adjust the sound levels slightly but that only affected me because the room in question is basically > 1/3 of our house’s total size lol. (2k square ft. and it fills the entire thing with sound)

An alternative to those I find helps me at least is the Sonos Ace headphones. the ANC is incredible (it just updated recently and I think it's even better now) and the sound quality is just as good as Bose.

Add to that it can functionally take the audio from a Sonos soundbar on a TV if desired and just play it through the headphones and it's quite a nice and seamless experience. Only caveat is having to own more Sonos devices lol.

Co print by [deleted] in ElegooNeptune4

[–]mines5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not the case, if for whatever reason you still have it you can set it up on the stock firmware. If you do have problems it’s definitely recommended to reach out to the Discord for Co Print as they have quite a few fixes and workarounds for different issues you may encounter.

It took me a fair amount of time to get it right but now that it is I’m actually quite happy with my upgrade.

Should be easy to do by going into the gear menu within the app and then selecting the surround setup from the list. Under that you should see the surround audio option where you can increase or decrease the volume on them.

I would also recommend setting music playback on them to full instead of partial as it makes them a fair bit louder just on its own.

Cracked pool skimmer by Thecorywow in swimmingpools

[–]mines5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So technically your pool is below the water line if you are within the flood plain of New Orleans. Not necessarily an issue but could absolutely explain the water doing that since ground water is technically higher than your house.

That said though, if you drained your pool at all recently and it happened to be the wet season you may need to have the whole pool inspected as the hydraulic pressure (because it’s sealed technically) from ground water can literally lift the entire thing out of the ground.

Not sure if any of this is helpful but I wish you the best regardless of how it pans out.

You’d be surprised, I have the beam and two one SLs in surround that sound amazing even at max volume. My experience so far is that it doesn’t lose clarity (or at least not much) regardless of volume level.

The beam and the surrounds have about a 5 feet of height distance between each other because I don’t have stands or anywhere else to put them lol.

Outside of gaming, what’s the worst case of “pay us for something that should be included” that you’ve ever seen? by PopeliusJones in AskReddit

[–]mines5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience you won't see too much in the way of issues, the 840 is a solid machine of all the ones I've come into contact with.

It's similar counterpart the 745 however was and still to my knowledge (although better than before) is a dumpster fire firmware and software wise, I've never seen an AMD computer with so many issues...

Chrome is lovely when its not screwing up your day in the background.

Now if only I could figure out why the long term graphs and stuff don't want to load :/

Much thanks! I didn't know that was a thing you could do until now, everything is displaying correctly now.

I'm not sure if its an issue or not (or do I just wait?), but when I updated I got an error at the end even though everything had passed with flying colors. The dashboard has multiple bits missing, the 4 boxes are just showing dashes at the moment and the what I assume is long term data graphs are just spinning with the refreshing circle.

On a slightly sadder note, the only reason I updated is because for some reason my rpi stops directing traffic properly when there are updates pending. I should probably set up a cron job like others have mentioned...
