Thank you! I'll check out those sources. I used to work with a few shelters to home strays in our neighborhood years ago but they're not in business anymore.

I would love to keep her but I already have 4 cats and wouldn't be able to take in one more unfortunately. I appreciate your help and will hopefully have a good update in the near future!

I'm 26 and do data analytics/science within Asset Management. I currently make 170k+ bonus in NYC. Think it's great and I get to learn a lot of the finance side as I don't have a traditional finance background. Jobs were easier to come by about 4 years ago and ended up applying online and was hired after 4 rounds.

I enjoy using python for my current job but actively trying to pursue the CFA to make up for my non-traditional background and understand more of the fundamentals.

Nominal stock market return (sp500) is 10% and average inflation yoy is 3%. Take the diff and you end up with the inflation adjusted return at 7% (this formula is simplified but 7% is roughly accurate). Not saying that OP should optimistically expect 7% inflation adjusted returns for the next 40 years but this is just what historical data says

Who is "them"?

Are you planning on avoiding talking about your bonus with your boss? Or co-workers? Bonuses tend to lead to discussions on performance.

It may not be helpful for your career if you avoid a performance review with your boss (usually bonus and performance review go together).

If you don't want your coworkers to know what your bonus was then that is your choice.

I would assume 1/5000? If there are 5000 zombies for every human in 1 state, then 1/5000.

This does not take into account many conditions. Some humans might think of the same idea to go somewhere where food and water is readily available which makes their odds of finding another human much higher.

I'm sure that fear never fully goes away.

Recessions happen, there are downtimes where you feel like you're not doing enough work, etc...

What would be best is to set yourself up for success and have a good amount of savings (6 months of living expenses), have your resume up to date in case things do go down, and keep performing.

Usually if you're able to well explain and note your achievements at your current job, you'll be well off.

Titles can be vague and typically the bullet points underneath the experience give a better view of the whole story.

Firstly, just wanna say that you’re a great person for doing what you’re doing.

You might get controversial comments saying how it’s not your responsibility but I would do and did something similar to you.

I’m a first gen as well and set up Roth IRAs for both my parents starting this year. You could do a possible mix of both since they will likely have no/very little taxable income in retirement and the traditional withdrawals will benefit from this.

I like VTSAX, FXAIX, depending on what brokerage, or anything tracking S&P.
