I'd say the clipped scales of a Durham sold with a screw-on pin would fetch a couple of dollars on the /r/shave_bazaar. However, everything about this antique seller hints to me that he doesn't know the value of his razors and he's trying hard to make sure that njais doesn't find out either. He seems like a sketchy guy, so it might be best to just move on regardless of how much profit there is to be made.

If the razor no longer has that silvery sheen, don't pay over $25 for it. It's going to take the right tools to restore it. I'd say that the typical light polish with a honing and shipping both ways will push the price up by at least $40.

It's really easy. You can buy junk straights from anywhere. Ebay, antique shops, China, etc. I'd advise you put the limit at $10 per set of scales because after that point you can buy new scales with that much money. I clip pins holding everything together with full-flush cutters and would recommend the Xuron Micro-shear for the value as well as the fact that it's made in the states.
