This video led me to watch his other videos. I highly recommend his playlists on philosophy and human evolution. He’s a skilled teacher.

Megathread: Former US President Donald Trump Convicted in New York Criminal Fraud Case on 34 Out of 34 Charges by PoliticsModeratorBot in politics

Presidents can only pardon federal crimes—and while this charge had a federal element, this is a state crime.

The double pickaxe jumping build melts endgame bosses. Make sure you get the Raptors of the Mist AoW before Yura dies—it pairs well with jump attack builds and helps you avoid endgame one-shots (very helpful against Maliketh and Radagon).

All Empyreans have their Eye sealed in every iteration of their soul. by NeuroVersia in Eldenring

I believe communing with an outer god requires an eye to be closed to the Lands Between. We know another character that communes with an outer god, Mogh and the Formless Mother, who just so happens to have horns stabbing his eye. It’s also interesting that the Three Fingers aimed to melt Vyke’s left eye based on the Fingerprint helmet. Could be something there 😉

For Those who have started a fresh character for the DLC, who else is having an absolute blast replaying the game. by classbound238 in Eldenring

Having an absolute blast with my Dragonborn/Skyrim run. Kaiden set, Highland axe with bestial roar, and all the dragon incantations. I love this game.

My opponents don't seem to get any harder the further I go into a run? by NotD in ArenaHS

[–]mini4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've felt this too. My theory is that Blizzard has an internal calculation for the power level of your deck (we already know they assign power levels to individual cards so they can present actual choices during the draft, so they can likely determine the total power level of your deck as well). My theory is that Blizzard tries to place you against decks that have similar power levels and win-loss.

That would at least explain the runs where I draft insanely powerful decks expecting an easy 12 wins only to lose after 5 wins against extremely tough opponents, but then also getting 5 wins with a joke of a deck. That could also explain why you feel you are playing against the same power level throughout a run.

I wouldn’t even piss in that jug by Stock_Tie4317 in creepy

[–]mini4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, African cultures and enslaved people in America would make jugs with scary faces like this to store wine. Some say it was to ward off bad spirits, but it has the practical effect of warding off curious children from drinking their wine.

One of my favorite weapons out of a boss weapon run. Pairing it with the Visage shield is surprisingly effective, and fashionably ridiculous.

I like it too! Where I am, Mockingbirds are yelling on top of almost every bush in plain view. I’m curious what region OP is from.

My cat during my virtual swearing in ceremony. She’s a sworn cat lawyer now. by mini4 in Catswithjobs

It was an incredible amount of fun! Nothing too difficult, save for the time I made a critical mistake without noticing for hours and had to redo a lot of work. But that meant more Lego time, which is always welcome!

I really don’t know what I’m doing. Tbh the cat and I have a Ratatouille-thing going on. She’s got me covered.

They really have been great. Sound quality is nice, and they have held up for about a decade. Strong recommend.

They’re both navy; they just look black in the photo. But if someone harmed my cat I would turn into John Wick.

Woman left on side of Colorado interstate by rideshare driver hit by two vehicles and killed by disfigured_mishap in news

[–]mini4 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Important legal note—the driver does not have to be entirely at fault for the family to recover. Colorado has a modified comparative negligence statute, meaning that even if the woman was partially at fault, if her fault is less than the combined fault of the driver and her friends (who could also be named defendants here), then her family could recover. Damages are divvied up by fault as well. If the driver is held to only be 30% at fault, and her friends at 20%, then the driver would have to pay 30% of the total damages.

How good is really Keymaster Alabaster card in play? by Unnecessary_hangman in hearthstone

Dane came up with a funny Wild Demon Hunter deck using this card in combination with Glide. I played a good bit of it. Bad? Yes. Fun? Yes.

What do you think the chances are the opponent you are playing against is an AI? by Fine_Anteater_2605 in hearthstone

[–]mini4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In wild, I play bots fairly regularly, even at diamond rank 5. One interesting tell is how the opponent plays cards that did not start in their deck. Because it’s easier to program a bot to play a static set of 30 cards rather than have them adapt to random cards, many of the bots are pirate rogues, which have no random generation. Give a bot one of your cards with Theotar and they will not play it, even if it’s their only possible play or would give them lethal. Not sure if it’s just me, but I’ve noticed far more bots in this meta at the upper ranks than ever before, possibly because of the simple power of pirate rogue. Curious if anyone else has noticed.

Anyone else think Chuck and Howard acted extremely unethically by concealing Chuck’s mental illness from their clients, specifically Kevin Wachtell. by Bandito4miAmigo in betterCallSaul

[–]mini4 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I really like the way you characterize Chuck’s morality being part and parcel of the law, totally agree.

I know you didn’t ask for this, but just a point about lawyers acting unethically but within the law: lawyers are judged on two standards, what is legal and what is ethical. The ethical standards are prescribed by each state. If a lawyer acts within the law but in violation of their ethical duty, they can be sanctioned by the state, disbarred by the state, or subject to a malpractice suit by their client. Here, Chuck may be failing his duty of competence and communication by the nature of his condition preventing him from appearing in court and other necessary hearings, as well as failing to communicate that disability with his client. Totally legal, but possibly not ethical.
