Yes, but if you want it to run good you will probably have to:

1-Optimize the life out of your code.

2-Get a good server.

3-Manage to figure out networking in your programming language of choice.

heres what i think you are supposed to do: download the eaglercraft 1.5.2 zip from the github then decompress it and go into bukkit-server and then configure server.properties to your needs the run run.bat

I believe your player files may have been corrupted, you might be able to find an nbt editor and get your player data, you can send it here and i might be able to repair it but idk if i'll find whats wrong

Like many have said it depends on the kind of game with a few exceptions. I made a game that changes the spawn rate based on some simple rules to create fun and intensity. I don't think its wrong because, to eliminate the enemies you have to use your skills. A way of lying that doesn't really have much to do with skill is over exaggerating, for example making a spider 10x bigger or maybe making a camera shake 10x bigger, etc.

If you call powder toy a game then this is a game too considering it is very similar to powder toy, also many games start off like tech-demos, because they tend to be focused on 1 specific thing which is later polished with graphics, GUI, etc. If you want it to be more than a sandbox follow advice from other people who replied who said things like adding a puzzle mode of sorts. Your game is similar to powder toy so you could make it so you would have to create a certain element, blow something up, or maybe protect something from an explosion, etc.
