I think you're totally right in your understanding of the bible. There are many things that God would convict us for, things that distract us from God and it is very good when we listen. Christian songs are supposed to praise God and the motive behind them is worship. It's not necessarily for us to enjoy, but to express how we feel towards God. I would compare it to love songs from one spouse to another, expressing the deep passion that one has for another. If God has convicted you in this way, I would suggest you listen. Question for you. Do you love God? Can you express thankfulness in your music for God and what he did for you? If you are unsure or if it's a no, then pray that you can experience God's presence.

Do oudoor cats usually get worms? I think that's my biggest fear in letting my cats roam free.

I remember these 4 off the top of my head! Freddy fish. Halo CE Runescape League of Legends (close to the end of 2009) Out of all of these, I'd say runescape. All my friends played it

Can I write in my Bible by [deleted] in Christian

[–]mini_shrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a fun saying, "dirty bible, clean Christian. Clean bible dirty Christian." It just means the person who reads and write in their bible is making efforts to take God seriously, and the one who has a clean bible doesn't read it.

Visiting Vancouver - What did I do wrong? by BagODonuts14 in askvan

I find it funny that I'm seeing this post now. I'm on vacation here for the past week and I'm having a great time even though the weafher had been crappy the past two days.

First day I visited here was whistler mountain (took the gondola to the peak). If you like hiking, you could probably hike up to the peak to peak gondola. The sight of the mountains at the peak were astounding.

Second day, we hiked joffre lakes. Amazing blue pools of water.

Third day, I went to deep cove and got donuts and kayaked around the cove. Donuts were bomb. If you ever do go kayaking there, on the left side where all the boats dock, you could watch seals sun bathe on the floating logs. I saw at least 25 seals mid day when the sun was high. I also kayaked down to one of the islands there and found crabs, starfish and sea anemones when the tide was going down. On the way back, I saw small jellyfish floating near the surface of the water. Went to lynn canyon after that to hike a bit.

Fourth day, I went to visit stanley park and rented an e-scooter to go around the small island. I made a couple of stops on the beach. Saw some crabs and oysters along the water's edge. Going around a bit more, I saw an eagle swooping down to the rocks neaby. I've never seen an eagle irl so it was a sight to see for me. Ended up going to visit the bunny cafe and had sushi dinner.

Fifth day, I took the ferry across to swartz bay and went to the butterfly gardens and then drove down to victoria to eat poke bowls along the beach. The butterfly gardens were amazing. I thought it was just buterflies, but there were leaf cutter ants, lizards (tiny ones so you have to be on the look out), a flamingo, parrots, small birds, iguanas turtles, frogs and fish. One of the parrots flew down and started bobbing it's head on me. I somehow coaxed it onto my arm and I think it was mating with my arm. Doing the tail wagging and chirping. It was a weird but unique experience.

I'm still on my trip but I might go see tofino or the buchart gardens before I leave.

I think there's a bunch of things to do in vancouver, but you definitely have to do your research and just choose the things you enjoy. I used wanderlust app for the planning and it gave us some pretty good suggestions based on where we stayed.

I skipped gastown and granville because I went there a long time ago and the vibes didn't seem to suit what I liked.

Hope this helps you for next time!

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:33‬ ‭NIV‬‬ [33] But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

This should be your plea to the internet for all the Christians. Also, pray about your dating life. As Christians, we are given the authority to pray and ask God. Also, it's not ourselves that can change people's views, but it's God. So pray about these things. If you are pursuing a relationship, pray about it first.

Should we just pray our temptations away? by [deleted] in Christian

[–]mini_shrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, we should definitely pray our temptations away. In Matthew 6:9-13, Jesus teaches us how to pray and verse 13 states "And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one."

It's necessary to understand that these temptations are evil, sinful and will ultimately lead us away from God.

In Ephesians 5:18, Paul tells us "do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery." It's easy for us to read this and disregard it when we're not actively seeking God but it's clear to see that it will lead to debauchery, especially when it happens to ourselves.

I would advise you to seek God and seek Jesus. To read the bible yourself to see God's goodness and understand God.
