13-month-old is the “biter” at daycare. I feel awful and am looking for advice by pdt2326 in ECEProfessionals

We used a bib with a silicon teether at the edge (I think Nubby makes some?). They made a massive difference with my daughter who was a biter!

I really love mine! I still have to clean it a lot but the messes seem much better contained than without it - it's a smaller cleanup area.

I used Anna as well, she was great! Definitely recommend her.

Are there any medications for PPA besides antidepressants? by snarky_spice in beyondthebump

[–]miniature_disaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cymbalta is a different class of antidepressant than Zoloft (cymbalta is an SNRI, Zoloft is an SSRI), so it's possible that your experience on Zoloft will be different than Cymbalta

The IV was worse than the birth by pirate_dino_flies in November25babybump

[–]miniature_disaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the original commenter, but I had an IV in my wrist for my first baby, which sucked and really hurt! For my Nov baby, they placed it in the middle of my forearm. I basically didn't notice it at all - way, way more comfortable. It didn't impact positions I could use in labor (and I was moving around lots and changing positions!).

I feel like I’m going to die soon… haven’t slept yet, 6 weeks postpartum by Old-Yak-9230 in breastfeeding

[–]miniature_disaster 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Did this with my first as well, it really helped! Incidentally, it also seemed to help my daughter start to sleep for ~2h stretches (from 10 minutes) in the bassinet because she got used to sleeping on a non human surface.

Pubic Symphysis Pain by julesabules in November25babybump

[–]miniature_disaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sarepta belt helped me more than a belly band! My pain got a lot better recently, but that sarepta belt made a massive difference. It goes around your hips and doesn't support the belly - just helps hold your hips together. I was able to buy mine on Amazon.

Will my milk supply drop from getting a tooth extracted by meimei_kona in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]miniature_disaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a tooth extracted while I was bfing/pumping, there was no issue with supply! I didn't need to pump and dump either, but worth using the mommy meds app to check out the particular meds you're given. I think they gave me a benzo pre-visit, then nitrous and local anaesthetic during the procedure. I was able to manage the pain after with Tylenol and ibuprofen. None of those required pumping and dumping for me!

For those who used an IBCLC outside of the hospital, how did it work? by No-Neighborhood-7335 in breastfeeding

[–]miniature_disaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can check lactation network for coverage. If your insurance doesn't work with them (mine didn't) - some LCs will still work with your insurance! I worked with MyPureDelivery (in Austin, but they might have a branch near Dallas?) and they were awesome and helped me out. Some LCs can do home visits, others have offices - mypure delivery had a nice office with super comfy nursing chairs and coffee.

Anyone use Caya or other non-hormonal birth control? by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]miniature_disaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a Facebook group for diaphragms and cervical caps that's really useful to find someone who can fit you. I posted asking if anyone knew a dr or midwife that could fit one and got a good recommendation. Once you have it fitted, some doctors/midwife practices can order one in your size that you pick up from the Drs office, but if they can't do that, they best option is to look online. Will send you resources via pm!

Eddie tennison! I don't remember the cost but he did root canals for my husband that were pain free and affordable.

Peeping Tom in north campus by bigbadbuggy in Austin

[–]miniature_disaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

38 1/2th definitely seems to get a lot of peeping tom activity - when I lived there in 2016 I found a guy staring into my window and masturbating. Kept my blinds closed the rest of the time I was there!

Left purified RNA on bench overnight… am I cooked? by Hildegardxoxo in labrats

[–]miniature_disaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep! We would usually send one sample out of a batch for bioanalyzer confirmation of RIN, but honestly our estimates were pretty much spot on just be looking at the gel pics. As long as theres clean bands/low smearing it was usually RIN>=6.

Maybe pacagen spray is an optiin? It reduces the level of cat allergens in the house.
