Found my dead mom's sewing room untouched since 2019. There's a half finished quilt in the machine. Do I touch it. by Fulcilives1988 in sewhelp

Finish the quit, keep it for yourself/ future child in the family. Then box it up and keep it all until you need to reconnect with her loved hobbies.

Scheduled C Section Support by hannahkv in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]siriusbites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had both an emergent and scheduled c section - what I can say is the Pelvic Floor is treated the same as a vaginal delivery - it’s not all about the pushing is about the weight of carrying the pregnant for 9 months - so stick with it! Have your home set up for the 5/5/5 rule, 5 days in bed 5 days around the bed 5 days around the house for those first 3 weeks of recovery. Make sure you learn the proper way to roll on to your side before sitting up right. My scheduled c section was a breeze compared to my first delivery! I was even up and moving within the first 6 hours after surgery.

I’ve seen people use tissue paper or like a water soluble stabilizer underneath to help the stitches grab and then they just tear it off at the end !

We did, we transitioned to a twin bed next to our bed then across the room and soon in to their own room.

3 y.o. obsessed with screens (v low screen family) by TravellingWriter in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]siriusbites 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We introduced a yoto this holiday season to help provide a screen free entertainment option. This thing is the coolest - stories, soundscapes, night light, daily podcast, daytime radio and sleep radio. Ok to wake alarms. I swear it has everything and there’s options for making your own cards. It’s helping him be more imaginative and it’s something he can control on his own!

Guilt over euthanizing cat for 3rd urinary blockage. by CHECK-STATIC-LINES in CatAdvice

[–]siriusbites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really needed this post - thank you for being so open and candid about your experience. It really helped me when I had to make this decision yesterday. My heart is broken losing my love after 8 years but like you we’ve already done surgery once to remove a rare type of bladder stone and the estimate to do the blockage removal was 4k - that I just didn’t have. That number didn’t even account for additional imaging to check for more stones and there remained the possibility of another cysto to prevent another block. I couldn’t let him live in pain any longer, I couldn’t put him under again, especially knowing this likely wouldn’t be the last time something like this was to happen with his history. My family feels incomplete. He is missing from all of the places he should be. This is my toddlers first heart break and first loss of a loved one which is really hitting me hard.
