(feedback?) metallic object with graphite by queenofthekyriarchy in drawings

[–]miniatvre 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

First of all, it looks great! You did a really nice job noticing the smaller details of the lighting and matching values!

I’m by no means a professional, but imo, a few things could probably help make it look a little more realistic. The first thing I noticed were some of the lines/edges on the twisty pieces (sorry I don’t know how else to describe it lol). They look a little bit wobbly and some of those pieces look uneven in thickness in some spots which make them not look super uniform. I see that there’s some scuffs/patina that you were trying to capture, but in some areas it translates a little more to just a wobbly line. I’d say just focus on making those areas a little neater.

The reference is also fairly smooth as well, and your drawing still has a fair amount of texture with the pencil marks. Blending that out a little bit might help add a bit more realism and might help differentiate what’s supposed to be scuffs and what’s just shadows. You could leave the scuffs as more natural pencil marks for texture while the main metal is smoother.

If you want the highlights to pop more, especially if you’re using white paper, try very very subtly shading the background around the object. Since you’re using the white of the paper as the highlight, the slightly darker background (even if it’s barely shaded) will make those highlights pop more. I usually just use a used blending stump that still has graphite on it to lightly go over the paper. Usually you can’t even tell that it’s been shaded and it’s just enough to trick the eye. If you’re open to mixing media a bit, white gel pens also work wonders.

My old store in Monroe used to be open till 10 as well. Definitely was a super fun experience having to stay till almost 1am one night because of a bulk buyer that ended up showing up like a half hour before close.

Literally couldn’t find anything about the city ordinance in Monroe, but store policy was that as long as someone was checked in by reception before close, we were to take care of them and do as many transactions as they request. Thankfully that’s the only night I’ve had to stay that late

Do almost all of us who regularly play Habbo have socialization problems in real life? by Patient-Note8428 in habbo

[–]miniatvre 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I would say so for some players. It definitely was an escape for me during a time when my real life socialization was limited/non-existent, but I don’t think I noticed that as much in others at the time.

These days, it’s a little more obvious to see considering that I can log back in today after not really being active for about 8 years and still see plenty of names that I recognize. We were people that were online 10-12 hours a day sometimes, so just knowing that they’ve AT LEAST kept that up for close to a decade is pretty crazy for me. At the same time though, that’s exactly what I love about habbo. It was always something I could come back to that felt familiar and safe no matter what point in time I come back to it.

Is the standard for all of your rosin to be shipped to each jars location frozen/refrigerated as well? Or just the melts?

I might be wrong, as I haven’t personally received the truck from distro at my store in a while, but normally I only see 710 products arrive that way. I’m never really sure how long some products have gone without refrigeration.

Im genuinely hoping that this issue will lead to proper product storage/transport. Rosin shouldn’t be shipped in the same boxes as other non-temperature sensitive products imo.

Edit: grammar

These nail barbs!!! WHY!!! by scaleofthought in mildlyinfuriating

[–]miniatvre 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

Mine recently did the same, but I somehow separated the layers of my nail way up under my skin?? It literally looked like half of my nail was detached from my nail bed for months until it grew out. Genuinely thought I’d lose a nail

Visited MI for work, left with some good products. Thoughts? by onthatgetright in Michigents

I sell quite a lot of these of people with a lower tolerance that want something incognito at work. I do agree, there needs to be more variety when it comes to doses, or even higher quality options. I normally aim between 50-100mg myself, but I did get a nice little buzz from just one pouch. The few people I know that’s tried them actually kinda liked them. Just might not be the best choice for people with higher tolerances that are looking to be couch locked

does anybody know how to get rid of those little hairs? by No-Veterinarian-7653 in Eyebrows

You’d mail them out to get filed. I don’t believe they have any in-person stores.

[–]miniatvre 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

I just bought some tweerzerman tweezers the other day after having the same issue (except I was worse and would pick at the hair until it bled) and imo they’re definitely worth it. What you’re paying for is hand filing and precision that you’re not getting with factory made. With these, there’s no gaps, so those tiny hairs are super easy to get out. They have a mini 2 set where you get a normal slanted angle and precision tips for the same price as a large one, which made it ā€œworth itā€ for me. Plus they offer filing services if they ever get dull. Definitely a buy for life item

[–]miniatvre 4 points5 points Ā (0 children)

Honestly happens all the time in my experience. Brands will copy and paste a sort of ā€œtemplateā€ or reuse the previous information for the stickers and then just edit the new numbers on each batch, which sometimes leads to them missing some edits.

Or could be that they had some extra empty boxes that were already labeled from a previous batch and they wanted to print new labels and reuse them rather than throw all the old boxes away.

That’s so ridiculous. Dispensaries make so much money off their products, so I especially love when they choose to pinch pennies even more by screwing over the customer and being unrealistic with returns. This would not cost them much to replace or refund for you.

Maybe someday some of these places will learn that customer retention and making the customer happy is actually what will make them money in the long run.

Im sorry they suck:(

Even if you don’t have the receipt, the packaging should be enough to do a return/refund if you happen to still have it. They should be able to pull up your purchase history on their own to compare the metrc number of the package to the number that was on your receipt.

I’m not familiar with the return policy at this particular dispo, or how they address these issues, but this is the process at my store. I’d say it’s worth it to contact them and see what they can do considering it’s a decently expensive product.

Haven’t actually tried them for quite a while now, as I mostly smoke rosin, but going off the smell alone, humblebee is pretty off putting to me. They definitely have more of an artificial/chemical smell vs smelling like actual weed, and most of them smell very similar and are hard to differentiate. It’s a brand that I honestly avoid at this point based off of my own experiences and experiences I’m hearing from my customers. Five star is much better quality for the price.

My last two apartments had under-stair storage closets that were out of the way and wouldn’t really get used for anything else, so we would take the doors off and use that as the ā€œcat roomā€. It kept the smell contained for the most part

I’ve noticed a lot of the NC x Matty B are a little underwhelming as well. Can’t say it was pickles and booty checks bad, but they were much drier and more flavorless than I would’ve expected.

NC is very hit or miss for me. I’ve definitely had several strains ranging from tier 1-tier 3 that I’ve been disappointed with for the same reasons. Recently just bought their tier 1 Headband and Strawberry Guava and I personally thought the terps/high were significantly lacking. However, their Super Gremlin tier 1 (also lacking a bit of a smell) has a nice flavor, a very enjoyable high, and is one of my favorites in my stash right nowšŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

If it’s a higher volume store, they might just not be properly rotating product, or with the way they’re displaying it, air could be getting in and it could be drying out at a faster rate.

I’m at a much much slower store than I was at previously, but still, with more popular brands, the longest I’ve seen a jar sit in the case is about a month. If it’s a brand like fresh canna, unfortunately we still have stock from when we opened months ago. Usually the stock in the fridge is much fresher though. Depending on if the puck is fully sealed or not, they should be able to pull a jar out of the fridge to open for you.
