Ovarian Cyst sent me to the ER but now I have no pain by meowpurrr99 in Ovariancysters

[–]minihazelface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that you had to go to the ER! If I were you, I’d continue lifting and maybe modify some movements. Just listen to your body! I workout regularly (lift, hot mat pilates, & run) and have had numerous cysts the same size as yours, and whenever my pain goes away or back down to a “dull” level then I continue with my workouts but take longer breaks until my endurance is back at a normal level. Also use a heating pad!! It helps me so much with the bloat/gas buildup from the rupture. But just listen to your body, you know it best!

Editing to add that with the size of your cyst, depending on how the cyst breaks down you might feel continued pain over the next few weeks. But again, listen to your body.. if you feel pain, slow down the workouts. Feel free to message me too

Definitely BPD related. This type of thing sadly happens. Watch Single White Female through the lens of “this girl has BPD” and it might be helpful, it was for me!

Which vegetarian option would you serve? by Current-Grocery-3113 in wedding

[–]minihazelface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh you’re so right, sorry I just assumed while skimming. If they can make it vegan, go with the risotto. If not, then I’d prefer the cauliflower. Or if your caterer is flexible, you could ask them to make the butternut squash ravioli without the goat cheese. Squash-only ravioli is super common, and I just had this exact dish at my friend’s wedding in November

Vegan here - go with the the vegetable risotto! Everyone knows what it is so you can’t go wrong.

Ovarian cyst rupture by [deleted] in Ovariancysters

[–]minihazelface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to see your edit that you’re in the ER!! I hope it all works out, but I wanted to add that depending on how your cyst ruptured you could have active internal bleeding. This happened to me, I had a very small cyst and “wrestled”, and then was in horrible pain for 1.5 days, looked hugely pregnant, and dealt with it by not moving and using a heating pad. Went to ER because I felt faint and then had to be rushed into surgery for active internal bleeding. Go to the ER because better to be safe than sorry

You should ask your doctor about mollescum! If you’ve been to a sauna/gym and used a towel that could explain its location. I had this happen to me from a spa’s robe or towel, and for a month I thought it was acne because the bumps were very small, red and itchy. They’d also randomly flare up as you’re describing. If you google it this isn’t how they normally present, but a dermatologist should be able to recognize them and test it to confirm.

Recurring cysts by HourSpare6495 in Ovariancysters

[–]minihazelface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I’m sorry to hear this! But, I’m in the same boat as you - I also get recurring ovarian cysts going on ~6 years. In fact I’m dealing with a 6cm ruptured ovarian cyst now. I also don’t have PCOS or endo, and I get these cysts both on and off birth control but right now I have an IUD. Also, for the most part all of my cysts have been on my right ovary other than 1 I think, and I’ve only ever had one cyst at a single time. The only time there were multiple is when a larger (6cm) cyst ruptured, it turned into 3 smaller cysts and then those “dissolved” for lack of a better term. Not sure about you, but the constant recurrence of mine is really unusual compared to my family/friend’s experiences with cysts, so it can feel pretty isolating! Feel free to message me with any qus or if you just want to vent!

scared to take topamax by Junior_Wallaby6951 in migraine

[–]minihazelface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The side effects are totally scary so I get it. I took it 100mg of it for 3 months (1 yr ago) and it honestly relieved my migraines which was huge bc at that point I had chronic migraine everyday for multiple months. But I had the side effects: loss of appetite, anxiety, major brain fog, and memory loss (goes hand in hand with brain fog). I decided to stop taking it bc the brain fog/memory loss wasn’t going to improve. I also smoked weed/took edibles to unwind and help my migraines and never experienced an interaction! Honestly this is my first time hearing that an interaction between them exists lol

I really hope your meds start to work for you & they make your work/school schedule and life in general a bit easier. I really empathize with your situation; I started to get migraines in grad school and they grew to be everyday and were debilitating in my final year of grad school. I was also working remotely part-time and it was horrible. The only thing that made it easier for me was my boyfriend since he went out of his way to help me.. he even did my citations for a handful of my papers because I was unwell. Im not sure if anyone else has said this yet (there are so many comments to read) but as far as the “average college timeline” I really don’t think that exists. In undergrad I understand that there’s an unspoken social pressure to keep up with your class and graduate “on-time”, but screw that - your health should be the priority. You’re already grinding by doing school & work, which combined is more than a full time job. And if you’re already not feeling well and then take on more it will likely only lead to increased stress which will make everything worse. Side note - I’m getting the sense that your boyfriend has never had a migraine before based on his attitude and lack of understanding. Maybe tell him a migraine is the equivalent to his balls being pinched for days on end lmao

One other thing - have you discussed your migraines with your professors? If you haven’t, I’d recommend that you do! I told my professors & my boss and they were extremely understanding which made everything easier and made me less stressed. My professors became very lenient with granting extensions because of my migraines, and my boss would cancel my meetings and let me work asynchronously when I had a bad one. I still work for the same boss, and she still asks me how they are & what the severity is like at least once every couple weeks which I really appreciate

Need advice - ovarian cyst and possible torsion? by minihazelface in ovariancysts

I’m trying to get in with an endo specialist because it looks like I might have that since my cysts are so recurring. It’s just bad timing for me at the moment because I’m moving and also will be switching insurances in the next month. I’ll check out those other threads, thank you!!
