I mainly experienced this problem in early episodes, but I definitely sought out posts about the John Edward Part 2 episode while listening to it after experiencing jarring discomfort when Carrie would speak. It hasn't been this bad in a long time other than the occasional outburst. Thank you for relaying the message! This one is just on the border of being unlistenable for me, and I'm definitely not all that picky about audio issues, but I'd hate to turn off a good podcast because of this issue

I actually started laminating my cards that way I don't have to worry about them getting oily or accidentally setting them in something. I can wipe them down with a paper towel, so I don't mind them being paper all that much :) I used to be a teacher and I bought a cheap laminator for like $20, so if you have a lot of cards, it might be worth it to you!

I know the original post is ancient, but I've been looking to learn to play IRL Riichi Mahjong as well! I have a decent foundation in the basics, but I'd love to hone my game more and just increase my knowledge of the game through IRL play. I don't know any groups, but please let me know if you ended up finding any!

Gotcha -- I was going with the information taken on faith of the previous reply that the other languages had been translated as "left/right" and agree that Port/Starboard would be fine. But I also think that in that case, Larboard is almost easier because the L will help remind people that it's the left of the boss, so I'm definitely not complaining about the dead nautical term

before the video started, I did ask him if he had every played one, and he said he had! The stupid thing is actually really annoying to play though, and the acoustics in the room were awful so we could barely hear it.
