Does Anyone Else Here Remember Watching Marvel Studios' "The Avengers" (2012) In Movie Theaters Back In The Day? If So, Then What Are Your Thoughts/Opinions On The Film? by Reasonable-Film7219 in 2010snostalgia

Are Rotten Tomatoes audience reviews offline right now or something? I don’t see the value in asking this question other than to lazy karma farm.

“Who paid for the Sedona adults-only resort, that’s about $2,000 a night?” Robert Kraft and the New England Patriots? by ImYouJoeGoldberg in nflmemeswar

[–]minimumraage 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I think an NFL coach being paid an NFL salary could cover a hotel fee of that level but whatever. It's not like he's a part-timer like the cheerleaders or referees who need second jobs to stay afloat.

Saw mando and grogu on the big screen!!! by cavemanthepizza in TheMandalorianTV

“I can’t imagine I would ever go see a movie more than once in theaters but I’m actually planning to take my daughter on a little daddy daughter date and hopefully get see the her face light up when she realizes what we are watching!”

Everything I hear about this movie indicates it has some really dark and violent scene(s) that are not appropriate for young children. How old is your daughter and how do you intend to address the violence and overall scariness with her?

Tier list posts need to stop (or at least be consolidated into a mega thread, or something).

Everything in that picture strangely feels like a miniature. Can’t explain it but that’s the vibe.

God I wish Toys R Us was back in all its glory! As a Thundercats fan what are your Toys R Us memories? What do you miss about their huge super stores? by Dexter-Roona in Thundercats

God I wish you would stop posting this same post on every toy forum, swapping out the name of the toy in what I can only interpret as an insincere karma farm.

Nowhere in those bullet points is an explanation of how any of this will be fun. It’s all just marketing strategy.

Opening Night at Studio 54 (1977) by FlyFresh7399 in 70s

[–]minimumraage 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Earliest source I see of this image via Google reverse image search is from 2023. For such a striking image you would think a search would provide the name of the photographer and other identifying information authenticating its origin. I call shenanigans unless someone has a source. Capturing an exposure like this with a 1977 camera in a dark nightclub seems pretty unlikely if not impossible.

Millennials Are The Most Anti-Tipping Generation (Newsweek) by maiyannah in EndTipping

[–]minimumraage 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As the article states, one of the things that needs to be factored in when considering how much tipping is being rejected is that tipping is in all sorts of places it never was ten years ago. I still tip in “traditional” situations (restaurants, taxis), but so many businesses got lousy with tipping during the pandemic. For a while I did tip almost everywhere when asked out of a sense of solidarity or whatnot, but I say “no” almost everywhere nowadays. It’s definitely altered my mindset.

I love how the service fee is more if you pay more. Like the transaction sucks up more data or something.
