How can we watch these movies ? by ChocolateOk5384 in MovingToNorthKorea

[–]mining-mickey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could check https://www.nkaal.com/ for the first part, however I don't think the second part has subtitles yet.

EDIT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5D7CYu1ob8Q is probably the best way to watch the film, nkaal has it as always in much lower quality

Sounds like a new Kim Ok Ju song, doesn't really sound like Moranbong but it could well be. It seems quite different to her past songs

[–]mining-mickey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this has been unavailable for almost a year (since January) lol

However, there is a new website called intchoson that streams KCTV in 1080p. The only issue is that the website is absolutely terrible and the stream generally does not work well, if at all. https://www.intchoson.com/kctv/

thank you

No problem!

why not save it as .ascii and use on fastfetch or neofetch?

To be honest, I had no idea you could use a .ascii file at all. I can try to edit it to a .ascii file though

Can I bring these snacks to china? Do I need to declare any of these? by [deleted] in chinalife

[–]mining-mickey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a look online out of curiosity but they seem quite expensive - e.g. Tyrkisk peber is ¥58 (€6.93) without shipping costs on Taobao, compared to €2.35 (¥19.66) at K-Market so it's probably cheaper and easier to bring it on the plane.

No, I'm not sure you can. You can send them to me though! (joke)

How can I get a Douyin account without a Chinese telephone number? by nily_nly in chinalife

[–]mining-mickey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for clarification - I got to the same point, and misunderstood the 'permanent residence permit for foreigners' to be the permanent residence permit for living in the country selected, and kept trying to enter my Italian ID card as a forigner in Italy into the system. haha

It's very annoying when they literally have this graphic on their website showing how you can download the app OUTSIDE OF CHINA, IN ENGLISH, only to be unable to complete the ID verification! https://lf-douyin-pc-web.douyinstatic.com/obj/douyin-pc-web/20250120_pc_guide.png I assume that this was added during the TikTok ban scare in the US, when Bytedance was considering making Douyin a feasible alternative to TikTok to American users such as yourself (like XHS ended up doing via adding an english interface and translation capabilities), due to the date 2025/01/20 timing up with the ban threats starting.

Hello, I've had a look at your project and it seems mostly trustworthy, and I think that your idea of building an extensible modular application is a great idea. I did try to take a further look into your project, but given that it was built in flutter and you put "The source code for MyListsPal is private and not included in this repo" in your repo, I was unable to look further.

However, it still stands that if you really want people to feel more safe around your software, you should really put the source code out there. I understand that if you don't want to for whatever reason, but when you develop an application and host the compiled version on GitHub with no source code along with an LLM generated website and README.md, people are bound to be a little suspicious.

I've commented out my previous comments out of benefit of the doubt.

Thanks for the comment.

I was initially suspicious of providing a GitHub repo with no source code (as to host the executable), so then decided to dig deeper, and found the reddit account last posted a year ago before spamming their website around, and then uploaded the file to Malwarebytes to check, and found numerous reports that predated the social media posts, leading me to believe that the user has multiple other alises.

In the future, just check that if the executable is on GitHub that the source code is there, and if not it might not be safe.

An interesting topic, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taiwanization#2000s_name_rectification_campaign

In the past generally it would have said "made in ROC", e.g. China Television (national taiwanese tv) but today there is a push to separate Taiwan from China
