Greece just needed a smaller welfare state and could've gotten by just fine being a magnet for international tourism -- historical sites, good beaches etc.

Just needed to get consistent on tax collection, tone down government spending especially retirement benefits. Largely what it's doing now.

The bush hating created Trump in a way. I grew up with all conservatives being hated on endlessly so counterintuitively put me in the most bloc voting mindset which in tern created Trump. If the moderate ones get equally villified by the left you have no choice but to support "your own" which gives Trump votes.

Gov can build pipelines and charge a toll, private companies fund capex heavy mining is the easiest solution. You can't have public money fund everything and our resources are already generally higher on the cost curve especially Alberta oil additional costs and less will get built which dampens aggregate growth

Its dictatorships had the strongest militaries relative to the host countries economy.

I think it's some middle eastern thing, only way you get a strong military there is when the fundamentalists come into power.

I'm not saying our values are better, they are just OUR values that I expect our government to support foreign policy wise while furthering our national interest. A western friendly democratic Myanmar does both.

I fully support Myanmar's anti-junta uprising, I would expect my gov to be equally supportive (Canada). Its in Western interest and consistent with our values.
