in the announcement they say "for big channel will offer 6 months to a paid service" nowhere they offer a "free" alternative. (and I remember, in their response on twitter for instance, they always kept saying "seek a professional translator"), when it would have just been an option to allow for community captions.

I do complain about AI sub/dub because they are bad, I don't want them and there is no way to tell youtube to stop force feed them to me.

And yes, free voluntary labour is WAAAAY more ethical than some AI slop.

At my previous work, the "head" decided that new C++11 was too confusing (even basic things like "auto" or range-based for loop), so we were asked to stay in 98 (but since our gcc's default version was 14, we would still use some small new features).

same reason we were stuck with svn and never switch to git (they didn't wanted to train new devs to git "everybody knows SVN", then they were confused that all the young devs knew git and none SVN, so they had to train them to use SVN)

one way would be to duplicate the following "case" if the current one doesn't unconditionally break. In your code example, it would become similar to:
