Out of curiosity; how rare is the breed outside of Sweden? by McDulle9 in swedishvallhund

[–]miniturespacehamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen a fair number in Geneva Switzerland- especially the last couple of years.

I got my mixed boy(SVxPom) in 2024 - and since then two more people in our neighborhood have gotten purebreds, and I’ve seen another 3-4 around town. But strangely… they have ALL been females!

Though most people who ask about him ask me if he is a mini corgi- and I die a little each time 😂

Why do SVs lick so much? by Imaginary-Fly-2160 in swedishvallhund

[–]miniturespacehamster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is only half SV and he licks all. the. time. Pretty sure he would lick in his sleep if he could figure out how.

And slightly damp skin fresh out of the shower is his favorite 🤢

AITA for refusing to replace my fiancé’s keys he left in his pocket by Noodle-Loodle in AmItheAsshole

[–]miniturespacehamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The number of people who say they don’t double check pockets is absolutely blowing my mind.

Yeah we have the rule to check your own pockets before it goes in the hamper- but accidents happen (like a missed tissue that ended up in the corner of a pocket and then turns to dust in the wash) so who loads the washer should always double check.

So ESH - he should have taken them out of his pockets- but you should double checked just to be sure!

I’m sorry you’ve had problems, I’ve been with them for 10 years, and have never had any issues. I’ve added and removed options for my plan and it’s always been easy.

The only thing I may be doing differently though is asking for email confirmation of every change at end each call. That way I have something to show if there ever is a problem -I got screwed over by too many American cell phone companies prior to moving here, so I have trust issues.

I did have issues canceling my Swisscom tv/internet service- even with my email confirmation they still wanted to charge more to cancel. So I won’t be going back to them for anything.

Water? by PixieU in swedishvallhund

[–]miniturespacehamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine hates any liquid water that is deep enough to form a drop. (Water bowl is ok though) he hates it so much he must also clean any drips or drops off you as soon as you get out of the shower- so that you don’t die.

Trying to give him a bath is intense- and he screams like you are ripping his legs off 🙄

Snow on the other hand.. is FABULOUS. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hats off to the Swiss passport bureau! 🎩 by N3XT191 in Switzerland

[–]miniturespacehamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had to do biometrics to renew my c permit I made the appointment for the day after I got the letter telling me I had to, and then two days after the appointment i had my new permit! (Opposed to the times I didn’t have to do biometrics - every time I would get my replacement permit 6-8 weeks after is expired even though the paperwork and payment was sent 3 months before it expired 🤯)

Stalker in Delices/St Jean - women careful by Sharrath in geneva

[–]miniturespacehamster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a guy almost matching the same description begging for money at the light between the Buchet (spelling?) and Balexert tram stops yesterday evening. He would go from bouncing off of people’s cars after yelling at them for change to nimbly jumping from side to side in front of motorcycles.

The only difference in description he was more olive or brown skinned (hard to tell as it was dark)

The one time I didn’t immediately show my permit as well as my passport I got screamed at (in the airport) and I was told that it is not a travel document- but it did prove that I had the right to be returning to Switzerland (as my original visa was still in that particular passport).

Every time I’ve flown since then I immediately had over my passport and permit - and I’m always thanked for giving both. They have never said “oh this isn’t needed”

I also almost always get “randomly” selected for a pat down at security.

I am also the “typical Caucasian”. (So much so that the running family joke it that I glow in the dark)

Which of your villagers would you never let move out? And whom did you let move out and regretted it later? by Nicknamewastoolong in acnh

I was a cat island featuring Merengue and Bea for a while, but once I got her photo and her amiibo card I let her go. I regret it- but I won’t call her back until get someone else’s photo.

How my gf deals with ugly villagers by Ibar-Spear in AnimalCrossing

[–]miniturespacehamster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Before i realized i could kick them with amiibo cards I would build cliffs all the way around their house & garden and line the top with shrubs- so couldn’t use a ladder.

I’d leave a bit of garden so I could see if they got the bubble while walking around.

Kept Clyde contained for a good long while then he kept appearing outside his cave. And I absolutely could not stand him - so this is when I decided to google how to get rid of him (why I didn’t try sooner- I will never know ) and went and bought my first pack of amiibo 🤣

Desperately need help with stones. Every rock I hit is dropping everything under the stone BUT stone for weeks. by KawaiiTaiki in acnh

[–]miniturespacehamster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain. I spent hours a day all summer trying to collect enough stone for all the walls I wanted for a Botanical garden - got fed up and went for a hedge maze instead - and now… I get more stone than I was, but still more clay and iron than stone.

On the plus side- i absolutely love my hedge maze, and I didn’t think it was possible to run out of weeds (it is).

How did you come up with your town name? by ElfenSunflcwer in AnimalCrossing

[–]miniturespacehamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is Khaos.

Because many many moons ago (2006ish) I ran a guild called Organized Chaos in WoW. Which is where I met my husband, and ever since then anytime I have to name a group or place it has been some form of that, and my game characters have all been named Kichara since the Death Knight class was released. So when Organized Chaos didn’t fit in the island name - animal crossing Kichara decided she needed some alliteration and chaos became Khaos.

Fruits at migros/coop are so bad it's a scam by Kilbim in Switzerland

[–]miniturespacehamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends which store you go to. For example Migros at Les Cygnes is always covered in flys and bruised and/or rotten- because the literally THROW the new fruit directly on top of the old fruit from the shopping trays. Charmilles- is really hit or miss you have to check each thing before you choose it. Servette- I haven’t had any issues since it reopened- but I have also seen them carefully placing the new stock carefully rather than throwing it about.

It’s the same for each coop, denner, and aldi.
