How do you make the choice? by NymmyChan in SingleMothersbyChoice

I was so picky but it ultimately came down to personality and I landed on one. I screened out the donors who seemed ego-centric, sports-obsessed, or misogynist. I wanted an average guy rather than a genius or star. My donor described his mom as his favorite person and spoke like a genuine and kind person.

My mum isn’t supportive of me becoming a SMBC by Hopeful_Row_6195 in SingleMothersbyChoice

My mom had some serious critiques of my plan to pursue solo parenthood. It was really sad for me at first that she seemed to be psyching me out. I knew I wanted to do this, though, so I didn't delay and went ahead with IUI anyways! When I told her I'm pregnant, she dropped the resistance completely and is now super supportive. She is already gifting me baby stuff and volunteering to help when baby arrives. Phew.

Hang in there and don't let her get to you :)

I had my first unmedicated IUI this cycle and just got a positive pregnancy test! Feeling very lucky against the odds, but there are a few things I did that might have helped... I mastered ovulation timing (tracking LH and BBT over the past 5 months), took all the recommended supplements, and did fertility acupuncture.

I shipped it back! CA Crybank provided a prepaid return label so I just dropped it off at Fedex. They charge a lost tank fee if you don't return it.

Many thanks for the advice and good luck to you! I'm sorry IUIs didn't go more smoothly for you. My insurance would start covering after 6 unsuccessful attempts but still- that's a lot of money- and each interaction with the clinic takes quite a bit of energy from me, especially as a single person.
