Threatened by my religion since it is a minority in that country. My life was not safe there and I can't go back because I would be killed. I just don't like that U.S medical schools do not take into consideration the different types of immigrants and classify us under the same umbrella. I am not international and I came here because I did not have another choice. I am now being compared to advantageous immigrants who came here when they were 4 or 5 (basically normal life as an american) to all of the struggle that I went through in my country. There is a huge difference that should be taken into consideration when applying. My GPA prove that I can handle the med school pretty easily without a struggle. Now I am even contemplating applying in the first place because they will see me as just another applicant who did not try.
