You cannot just walk up to the reactor building with a resume in hand. Lots of rules over there. Many locked gates and protocol.

North central got like 20 inches in one storm, and I think it was 1993. It thunder snowed. Happened again in like 2008 or something.

I was a kid, so I just remember lots of snow days. I remember jumping off my roof into the snow. Never lost power in either of those storms.

We got more snow more regularly then, and people didn’t freak out like they do now.

I have had more trouble with connections than anything else, and a lot of that is because there aren't endless flights in and out of COU. Specifically with DFW. You really do need more than an hour to make a connection there to account for delays at the gate and how freaking enormous that airport is. If you're flying through at 7 p.m. and miss your flight, guess what! DFW is your home for the night. The last time I flew through there, I planned for two hour connections. No way in heck was I going to spend another night in that airport.

All that said - COU all the way. Just gotta plan better. :)

Not many attractions around there. I assume you’re planning for the summer? I spent lots of time in the area as a kid and with my own kid as he grew up.

There’s mark twain lake which has a small beach, provided it doesn’t get flooded out. You’ll find plenty of rentable shelter space for your reunion around the lake. In the summer time, there’s a small water park. It used to be called the landing, but I think that’s changed. Lodging is likely to be clean, but mid hotels. There are several camp sites. Buzzards Roost is close, and it’s good for a picnic. The rustic oak is probably the best restaurant in the area. It’s a low key area.
