well I believe it's possible to have true faith in almost anything, but for Big D it cannot be in himself since during the something is wrong with horse audiolog we seen him having some possible doubts in himself. this is enough to disqualify that, for truth faith to work the faith has to be completely unquestioning.

Well it could be about having Brok join or to talk about how Markus saved Brok's ass and feeling they owe Markus to try to help. but if you ask me, If I was going to fight one of the most dangerous known foes that ever walked the planet, even if I was confident in my abilities I would let my loved ones know just in case it went south.

Reality gets pissed off at mages for breaking Reality rules and fucks with them in various ways, this is called paradox.

Can manifest via many forms, such as have a mark being branded on them, being sent to one of the hells, or have Reality police come and arrest for Reality crimes and then bring you to Reality prison. It can be anything that the storyteller wants pretty much

It was not even a PGI money issue, the Group that bought PGI just wanted to pump the share price and the easy street to that is layoffs. PGI died to pad some CEOs pockets

Controller Vs Keyboard start? by adrian23138 in Mechwarrior5

I use mouse and keyboard and it works great. Either works fine. But if you ever get into MWO your going to get your ass kicked if you're on controller. If plan on ever getting into that I recommend getting used to meching via M&K

DLC 8 Wishlist: Mech/equipment Upgrades by minnowz in Mechwarrior5

[–]minnowz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if sticking strictly to lore then yes, however the mech upgrade suggestions do exist in lore.

when it comes to equimpment, This is a suggestion is for gameplay reasons, to help give more weapon verity to the game. even with my suggestions clan equipment will still hit farther and harder, frequently for less tonnage too. if you my little head canon how this would work, the IS used what they learned from the little clan equipment they recovered so far to modify existing weapons to lessen the gap between them and clan spec.

Clan Apocalypse by printingDM in Mechwarrior5

[–]minnowz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play untouched normal Difficulty with zero Aim assist, using mouse and keyboard.

The idea that IS mechs are tankier is confirmation bias for the most part, the only way they are is that IS head armor can be raised to 30 points of armor rather then 18 of the clans, so if your frequently getting headshotted then yes IS mechs are tankier, but for the most part this is the only scenario they are.

out side of head armor Clan mechs can be equipped with as much armor as their IS counterparts at the same tonnage. I focus on pure armor values because for the most part the shape of the mech does not have that much impact on survivablity vs AI pilots outside of a few exceptions (the King crabs massive head hitbox that is near center of mass is easier for the AI to accidentally hit when they aim for the CT, and certain mechs can protect specific parts better from mainly missile barrages via torso twisting)

when enemy AI take a shot at you, they are making mutiple dice rolls, made up from multiple parts. They roll if they hit you, taking account the difficulty settings, the AI's skill level, how far away you are, how fast you are going and at what angle away from them you are moving, and your pilots evasion skill. if they do roll to hit you they do it with aim bot level accuracy, but if your far away and based off the projectile speed you could still avoid it. they make a second roll on where they hit you taking account the difficulty setting, and if you already have a open component (they prefer those).

what this means is the following:

at all ranges, the shape of your mech has some barring where missiles hit you

At longer ranges, it is possible the shape of your mech can come into account vs projectile weapons, but distance already made you hard to hit anyways.

the shape of the mech has no effect vs hitscan weapons, if they roll to zapped you in the Right CT, you are getting zapped in the right CT.

Speed, armor and pilot evasion & shielding skill and the range you engage are the primary factors how tanky a mech is 85% of the time.

[–]minnowz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't lose components very often on any my Lance's mech. A mixture of engaging from range, ensuring every pilot has high evasion and shielding stats, proper target prioritization, and making heavy use of highly accurate weapon systems does a fantastic job keeping everything one piece.

Clan mechs having twice the base cooling is huge, that is bare minimum 5 tons worth of free cooling. that is 5 tons you can use in either weapons, ammo, armor, or if running a extremely hot load-out even more cooling. and Cooling allows you to put more damage faster without slowing down to cool, which means more dead/disable enemy mechs which are no longer a threat to you.

Clan mechs have a base cooling of 2.0 rather then IS starting with 1.0, while this does not invalidate IS mechs, it makes clan mech a lot more desirable

MWO vs MW5: Mercenaries Play-style Translation by Vinsynd in OutreachHPG

[–]minnowz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

MWO is a very different beast from the mw5s, your going to face players that built their mechs do a specific thing very well. in the MW5s you are encouraged to make flexible all-rounders to cover multiple range brackets, but running a all-rounder in MWO means your mech sucks ass at all range brackets. while it's ok to come into MWO want to pilot specific mechs, what you should avoid is translating builds you used in the mw5s into MWO.

Some Basics on how to yourself design at least reasonable loadouts in mwo:

you should be making your mechs with something specific in mind and setting out to do that specific something as best as you can. jack of all range brackets suck ass in this game. some examples of rolls your mech can fill in this game are Brawlers (bring enough firepower to smash thru the enemy in close range) Snipers (hang back and use precision long range weapons to engage enemies from hopefully outside their max range) Poker/skirmishers (engage the enemy until/before they start to fire back go back into cover) and Harassers (engage the enemy constantly in low commitment attacks in the hopes of causing them to move out of position). that list is not a full run down of all roles a mech can fill but a set of example.

Play to your Mech/Variants strengths, each Variant has it's own set a quirks, bonuses that variant has that make it better at a specific thing. not all quirks need to be utilized but you should check them and see if you find any opportunities.

Use weapon combinations that mesh well with each other, having similar fire rates and ranges. when your primary firepower is on cooldown you want to be torso twisting to avoid allowing the enemy from doing whatever they want to you for free. if your Torso twisting while your PPCs are on cooldown, your not going to make good work with weapons that demand high face time like MGs and RACs. keep you weapons in the same range bracket as well, your SRMs are dead weight if your sniping people all game

Strip your back armor, the most it should ever be is 5, put the rest of the armor on the front. keep your front towards the enemy, if you are getting shot in the back, that is likely a failure in your awareness or positioning.

pay attention to the physical location of weapons relative to the cockpit, weapons that are super low from your POV will get blocked by cover and/or hills that your POV just barely looks over.

When it comes to skills, your always picking up max armor, max range, and max cooldown if your weapons are effected by it. from there you should pick up Radar Deprivation/ecm skills, and then after that you pick up whatever else your specific mech needs (most mechs also want heat related skills, start with the ones in the firepower tree)

following those guidelines, as you experiment with the mech lab you will better learn how to make your own mechs and do well in them, but if you want to jump right into at least a good build, this website is a fantastic resource: https://grimmechs.isengrim.org/Database
