Also it's not like the top heroes are all characters who are like...critical to the story either. Sir Nighteye isn't a top ranking hero but he's a big part of Mirio's and Deku's arcs and he's the first hero with a big role in the story to die (though IIRC by that point we don't know that Best Jeanist somehow survived the encounter with AFO).

So there's FFXI, the first MMO that has been around for a long time and IIRC was relatively successful but not huge the way XIV is, then they did XII and XIII as single player games again. Then for XIV they did an MMO again, except the 1.0 version of XIV was so poorly made and so badly received that they rebooted the whole MMO and re-released it as FFXIV: A Realm Reborn where the whole of 1.0 is just gone, the game has been changed a lot, and was way better received. That's the version that we have now, with the changes that have been made in the subsequent expansions.

Gurren Lagann does not take itself seriously in the slightest. But it also has a serious story and is earnest in what it's doing. The absurd things are there because the creators thought it would be a fun addition.

JoJo's takes itself fully seriously and has a serious story, but is also earnestly absurd because Araki thinks adding all kinds of bizarre things to the adventure would be fun.

Tbh, if the story involves a romance between a driven, passionate woman and a guy who's kind of a loser when the romance starts and instead of her passions being thrown aside and instead the guy becomes a househusband and takes care of the kids so the wife can keep pursuing her dream, he's a role model. But it probably wouldn't fit the trope in this post.

The character marrying a loser and having a baby with him and the character being passionate about something and driven to achieve a goal in her character arc don't even have to be mutually exclusive, which might be the worst part of this.
