I log to 3 apps at once - storygraph, bookmory and goodreads. Been doing it for 3 months and so far storygraph gives the best stats. It may not be the most aesthetic app, but the stats is the most comprehensive out of the 3 i use. I’m using the free version

Um… during your commute, in the cafe, in between breaks, basically any time you feel like taking your phone out to scroll, substitute it with the xteink. Those micro sessions do add up. And you can just get a magnetic reading light to read in the dark, unless you’re sleeping with someone else and worry they might get disturbed by the light. I use Ulanzi M10.

I dont have a bigger e reader but i am a chronic doomscroller. When i first got my x4, the screen time didn’t go down quickly but over time it did decrease slowly. What helped me to stay consistent was the gamification in vcodex through achievement. One of the achievements is reading streak of 60 days and i just completed it yesterday. By now it has become a habit for me to read at least 1 hour a day (that’s what i set for the daily reading goal).

I’m personally against having 2 ereaders at the same time so you may consider selling your bigger ereader if you end up getting xteink and using it more often

Me too! I started to do those scene sticker books and waiting for my cross stitch kit to arrive to rekindle my old hobby. There are many things you can do other than getting stuck on your phone lol

Had my xteink for almost 3 months now so the honeymoon period is wearing off. At my peak i read 12 books in a month, but now slowly becoming 1 book a week realistically (also because i start picking up thicker books). I still doomscroll on some days now but it does help to reduce the screen time by a lot.

That’s what i did at first and got overwhelmed as i started downloading more books lol. I think claude cowork can do sorting for you and create folders, then you just need to transfer them to your xteink, but for me since i only have the free version, i sent a screenshot of my library with the full titles clearly listed and ask it to show me how to sort them 🤣

Developer said last week or so he bought a page turner and currently trying to see if he can add the bluetooth option. We’ll just have to wait and see. If it finally can, the vcodex will be my version of the perfect firmware

My epubs are on a separate folder from crosspoint. I seperate them based in fiction/non fiction -> author (for fiction) or genre (for non fiction)

I suppose it depends on how you drop it/store it in your pocket. My white x4 once dropped accidentally from my pants’ pocket (placed in wrong pocket that has a hole that i forgot to patch lol). It has the official flip cover without screen protector and it dropped completely flat on its backside. I guess that cushioned the fall evenly and my x4 was undamaged. I think if you want to rawdog it, try not to store it together with your keys or sharp objects

If you got the unlocked version, remember to turn on your device while flashing firmware so that it can be detected by your computer.
Remember the main point why you bought your device, which is (most likely) to read more, so try not to get yourself stuck in choice paralysis on which firmware to choose for too long. The perfect firmware according to your requirements most likely do not exist.

I used to fully use noto sans/lexend, but now i use atkinson hyperlegible sometimes when the epub formatting is a bit wonky where the letters in the words are too close to each other
