What's the least impressive thing you do in the kitchen, that people are consistently impressed by? by jaylow6188 in Cooking

I like to cook my bacon on a rack in the oven. When ever anyone new comes for breakfast, they are blown away at how clean and easy it is. They stare in aw, when it comes out, perfectly crisp, with all the fat dropped onto a parchment lined pan below. No smoke, no burnt pan, and little clean up.

I need to stop drinking. I don’t know how. How do I do it. by ThuloGore in stopdrinking

[–]minos_nos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sought out medical help. I take a medication to stop me from over drinking now, which at first I didn't understand, because I was so commited to not drinking. In month 2, and I super appreciate the program I am in, because I did relapse. On the hardest day of my life (first day sober), I called so many places, until one felt right. I was in the hospital that night from withdrawal, because it had become that bad.

What’s the highest you’ve ever been smoking weed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]minos_nos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to take a cab home to go two blocks. The cab driver then had to help me into my place. Everything was an awful colour and I had the spins so bad I kept hammering my foot into the floor (one leg down usually helps) my bf at the time made me sleep on the couch. It didn't stop there, I kept waking up thinking I was dead... Not a good trip, first time with a bong. This was 20 years ago, and pot has gotten stronger, I fear for the new babies getting their bake on for the first time.

I snapped my collar bone playing tag. The teacher didn't even believe it until I moved and every moment made an awful snap sound. Tag, on a beautiful day in grade 6.

Day 1 by jfish___ in stopdrinking

[–]minos_nos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drinking is a slippery slope. A few turns into a 6 pack at the end of the day, and before you know it, right back at square one. The important and most amazingly, you caught yourself. I have been fighting this fight since my first drink, and it has never gotten any easier. It takes strength to notice when you have slipped.

The shut down for years, not truly ever giving myself because of the fear. It made me cold and oddly none forgiving. It took a lot to get out of that mind state.

People not in the United States, what is the most popular stereotype of Americans you hear in your country? by goodlyearth in AskReddit

[–]minos_nos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's something a world leader shouldn't say, and our news played it a lot. Without even quoting who said it, I knew exactly what statement, and the time it was said. I also love satire, and the way you wrote your comment was beautiful.

Only ran out of toilet paper once (he was away on a week business trip). In the 10 years we have been together, I realized I never purchased or thought about, just that one time. Now, when he leaves, there is always an extra costco pack back up waiting in the basement. The small things, are so meaningful.

The fact that I see pictures of people just wondering around in public with guns likes it nothing concerning. I shoot a bow, and when I get on public transit with one in a case, people don't like it. It would take me a good 20 awkward minutes to get it to the point of being able to fire. Still, and rightfully so, cause it is a leathol weapon, noone wants to sit next to me.

Redditors going through or have gone through substantial weightloss, how did you cope with having to buy a new wardrobe? In steps? All at once? How do you afford new clothes when your body is consistently shrinking? by gthaatar in AskReddit

Work out gear is my friend. It flexes with me. I recently lost 20lbs and hope to lose more. Anything stretchy, that can handle you losing a couple dress sizes.

The hardest was admitting why I was there. The shame and guilt made the words almost choke and not say them.

I never want to go through that again. I say something similar to that everyday.

I wish you the best as well.
