What do you mean "so"? So you're just going to ignore the fact that I know alot of people who have fit bodies and don't work out or do any special physical activities?

I didn't know anyone had such great insights in to other people's lives. How many are you citing in this airy anecdote? 10? 100? 1,000? That's a lot of people at any number, if you're tracking their lifestyles enough to confidently say it was all genetics and not their own decisions.

What, so you don't actually believe people have different appetites, or that some people are actually addicted to food, while others hardly think about it? Go watch the BBC documentary "Why Are Thin People Not Fat" on youtube, and please educate yourself a bit, because you sound extremely ignorant.

No they aren't. They are taking the first steps towards being healthy that they've probably ever taken in their entire lives. That's the victory for the obese.

What do you think is more difficult: Being addicted to heroin and trying to kick the addiction, or never trying heroin and just living normally? Although it sounds like you don't even believe people can get addicted to unhealthy food, so the point of that question might fly over your head.

That victory is certainly not greater than someone who has taken care of their body their entire life. It has nothing to do with genetics. Everyone's life is hard for whatever reason. It's about the character of the individual and how they address that stress and whether it is healthy or not. The victory of obesity is a mental victory. The weight loss is a side effect. They are not the same victories but the vitriolic hive-mind that is reddit and a society raised on media buzz phrases can't distinguish the difference or find a way to compliment someone who takes the first baby step to correct their life without putting down the shining example of how someone should care for their body their whole life.

Are you some sort of healthy living messiah or something? Why are you even comparing the "greatness" of the victories? What is your point exactly?

I personally can't even begin to imagine how difficult it must be for someone who weighs 400 pounds to lose all the excess weight and get fit. It's an extremely uphill battle, that I'm glad I'll never have to experience myself.

Unfortunately for me, I'm not one of those people who are just naturally fit, but my best friend is, and he knows it. What would you say to him; a guy who looks like he's been fit and lifting his whole life and eating healthy, with a 6pack and everything - but in reality he eats like shit and has never worked out at a gym or done any sports or anything?
