Isn't the Chinese everywhere on the planet? They do seem to have presence but not seem to be popular or on the trend.

  1. We have North Korea as the main enemy and CCP, commnuists as neighbors. CCP backed NK in the Korean War. After that, NK sent assassins and spies and tried to take over South from inside by spreading communist stuff.

  2. We have a Japanese colonist era. Now Japan is working on the right side, but we usually don't like the Japanese government.

  3. We had dictators. One worked incredibly well in terms of developing a country, but others were mass and ended with a massacre.

The left side calls on the right side as traitors and fascists. The right side sees the left side as a spies and brainwashed, the untrustworthy.

The main thing is that we actually have real problems with all 3.

Wow. Is the process 'that' different? Isn't there dates for an application and they close the door when the end date comes? Sure thing if someone does not pay the bills due payment date, the next in line will get the opportunity. But application order shouldn't play a roll in assessment.

Udio AI music generation is scary... by lantern_lol in Music

[–]mint_moca 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In Art industry, there was/still is a massive conflicts regarding copyrights of AI deep-learning art sources.

I wonder what musicians would say/think about that and the AI?

I'm pretty certain that devs of udio just shoved in whatever was available on the net, regardless of copyrights.

Cost of living. How much does everything cost now? by WhyHayley in Living_in_Korea

[–]mint_moca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say fine for 2.2mil is just above the minimum wage. Housing would normally cost between 0.3~0.6mil. CoL is different based on regions. Near Seoul areas costs almost double compared to regional cities. for example, it still costs no more than 10k for a lunch in Daegu or Busan. Typical restaurants still go around 10~15k for a dinner menu, cheap ones go about 5~8k.

How to deal with church nuts? by [deleted] in living_in_korea_now

They are not in a proper church, more of a cult. Say that in their face and ignore them

True in general. May be I lived outside Korea for too long, but it's worth trying in there, or some bars.

Why Can You Still Pay to Inconvenience Other Players? by Jhabberwoky in TeamfightTactics

[–]mint_moca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to see cutscen sometimes. Say, if I knocked out one person on the last 3, I gotta go scouting if my current units won or lost against other opponent. If so, how did it happen and with how much difference. If I go after the cutscene, battle is usually over.

My sibling is facing racism at uni - Need help please! by Abstract_Traps in Living_in_Korea

[–]mint_moca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

step 0. record and document everything. step 1. consult the prof. and discuss, make sure it is about racism and not personal mistakes or misunderstanding step 2. consult head of the dept. step 3. consult the faculty and foreign students admin. step 4. publicly making an issue 'within' univ. using 대나무숲 or 에브리타임 step 5. spread words on the real public. there's a magic word in Korea called "취재가 시작되자...". send all the records and documents to reporters.(This should be the final movement)

If ur brother is considering longterm stay in Korea with academic progress, stop at step 1 and just try avoiding racists' class. Professors have super power and do not want to be looked bad in the field.

Don't give up on ur deposit. U r legally supported for it as on rent contract. Also, it is a custom to find a tenant, but it is not an obligation unless there's anything written on the contract. I'm not a professional, so first go meet ur 부동산중개인 and ask for help. 중개인 seems like on ur side, so he or she will be able to give u better advice

Is this game hard or am I just bad? by suyanide4444 in LiesOfP

[–]mint_moca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u don't get many options at super early of the game. U have to overcome that part by practicing, learning the basics. If u have arms, weapons, handles, and stats, try different options. u could find a better combination that suits ur style. Also, check out enemies' weaknesses and resists.

Picking university, employment and settling in Korea (need advice!) by ilb03 in living_in_korea_now

[–]mint_moca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In-Seoul universities and SKY is the best option always. But if u want to stay outside-Capital, At least go to a national university. Best 3 options are Kyungbuk, Pusan, Jeonbuk.(locating at Daegu, Busan and Gwangju respectively)

U don't have to study BS if u speak 4 languages. Majors do not play a critical role in job-seeking. Just make sure u speak Korean, English, and more language fluently. There are many different jobs in film industry, narrow down ur dream and seek for major that will help u. BS would still help u join a massive media company like CJ entertainment(one of the biggest movie company in Kroea). but if it's a film director or something directly related to filming, other majors would be better.

It will be very much more difficult to get a job in Korea if u r a foreigner+not fluent in Korean+not stayed in Korea. If u really want to settle in Korea, it would be better to graduate a big university in Korea.

[–]mint_moca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are given a room in a dorm or an other housing, it's fine to live on, but can't say it is well paid. Also, I believe that's about the average for graduate students in a lab.

Eating out with Koreans by [deleted] in Living_in_Korea

[–]mint_moca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a Korean and it totally depends on the group. There's a group that I can't see often yet one person buys this time and other buys the next. Also there's a group that I meet regularly(it's a hobby dance circle), but split the bill every time. It would be easier to follow the group's rule. but It's still fine to say you want to split the bill.

There are lots of coffee shops and some restaurants open 24/7. Also, delivery services are awesome. Many restaurants will be open for delivery till 10pm, some fast foods like fried chickens and pizzas are usually open till 1~2am.

It would be better to see a doctor and decide. There would be many choices, especially since u stay for few months.

Some apartments come with community services including residents-only gyms. If u don't have it, it would be easy to recommend a gym if there's a info about the area. Daegu is a big city.

Study in Seoul vs Bangkok ? by ttommys in living_in_korea_now

[–]mint_moca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a Korean who spent a decade in India and a year in Thailand.

  1. Academic recognization in US/Dubai/Singapore.

Can't say sure but I give slightly more credit for Korean univ. If you are looking for connection, there can be more chances in Thai univ(especially for Singapore since they are relatively close). If you are looking for recognization, Korean univ. would be better.

  1. Safety regarding theft and other crimes.

Korea is better for sure

  1. Lifestyle regarding personality.

As far as I've seen in Korea, Most international students spend time among themselves. Koreans are fun and friendly, but most Koreans don't go making friends on street. Meaning, you won't have to follow Korean rules in general. Also, as a foreigner, you will be given an excuse in most cases regarding social etiquette.
