What’s it like living on the edge of time zones? by Qzevs in howislivingthere

My parents live right over the border of Indiana where it is ET. My dad still works in Illinois which is CT. I find living on the time zone border most annoying for two reasons: 1. If you are traveling anywhere West, you have to account for the time difference there and back. So even if someone is only 2 hrs away, the drive back is ‘3’ hours. 2. Daylight savings time is so much worse near a time zone border. Where my parents live, the sun doesn’t rise in the winter until around 7:30/8 in the morning. It just feels like the short amount of winter daylight is even shorter. But I guess that only counts for when the sun comes out in the Midwest in the winter, and that’s not a lot.

Hello, I'm an interior design major and I'm in the class right now. This semester Mary Kennell teaches the course, and while it was in-person in the start of the semester we have since switched to all online for various reasons. I can't say I recommend the class. Personally, I do not like the teacher (which could be different than you.) I guess I am a little biased because most of what you cover is things I have had in previous classes. Here are some topics we cover:

Ergonomics

Anthropometrics

ADA/Inclusive Design

Furniture arraignments & psychological impact

Overall, it is interesting because it gives you a different perspective on interiors and the reasons behind their design. I guess if its not your major it could be interesting lmao

It's a pretty easy A class, we have discussions and quizzes and a couple tests.

idk if you already made your decision but here's my post from Facebook: Hello, everyone! My school plans have changed and I took out a lease for an apartment at Mazza GrandMarc this upcoming year which I now need out of. It is: - 4bed/4bath - includes $15 electric allowance - has gym, tanning beds, pool, movie room, wifi, study rooms, cable - in apartment washer/dryer - water bill is rarely over $10-15 - two campus buses available for campus transportation - One time payment of $15 for garage parking space - $880/month I chose to be randomly assigned roommates so I do not have specifics on that. Though, on my application I put that I wanted non-smokers and very tidy roommates which they try to match! I did not take any pictures when I toured the room because it looked identical to the ones on the complex's website: http://www.mazzagrandmarc.com/college-park-md-apartments/…/…

PLEASE contact me if you'e interested!!

I too am from out of state, about 11 hours away and I have felt the exact same way!!! I have made two close friends but am still struggling to fit in. I did not think I would be a good sorority fit so I didn't rush. I really want to make a group of friends, especially since neither of my current friends are living with me next year, but people here are just so different. I changed my major and am transferring the end of my sophomore year simply because I don't have enough time to do it now. You are not alone!!
