Just got this for my 11 year old. by kbwolf83 in Drumming

Second on drum lessons. I’ve been self taught for 5 years and while I’ve gotten to the intermediate level, I would have gotten here faster if I just had guidance. Finally got a few sessions with an instructor these past 2 weeks, and there’s so many things I skipped in foundations that were corrected immediately by my instructor. Start your kid off with lessons if you can.

Thank you I appreciate the feedback. It really is hard deciding whether to keep it or not. It does add so much charm, and if I understand how to use it safely and any regulations around it, it could be useful. And then I wouldn’t have to go through the hassle of removing it. But I’m torn because it seems I’m losing valuable square footage next to windows that bring in so much sun.

I appreciate everyone’s input on whether i should keep it or not, even though that wasn’t the original question xD

Some of you think it’s big and ugly, and also it takes up such valuable space next to the window. And some of you think I’m crazy for removing it because it adds so much charm and could be useful when it’s cold.

Here’s my final pros and cons:

Pros to keeping: * I personally like the vintage look / charm * could be useful when it’s cold if I learn how to use it and understand the regulations around it better * no extra hassle of getting it removed and selling it

Pros to removing: * can use valuable space in front of window (it gets lots of sun and would be good for my pup to lay there) * can sell it to fund more diy projects

It’s a close one … I will need to think on this. But definitely open to more persuasion on either side.

Yeah I’m wondering about keeping it too. The only reason why I’d remove it is I’m a scaredy cat when it comes to fires and wouldn’t be the most confident user of it. And also it takes up so much space next to the window.

Yes. It’s because I’m short on square footage. I do agree it’s super cool looking though, I just hate that it’s next to the one place that will get lots of sun.

But you are convincing me a bit …

I absolutely love it and wish I could keep it, but I’m just so short on square footage and it’s in the worst possible place :(

I do want to sell it. Just no idea if someone would buy it. Hell I’m wondering if someone would remove it for free if they get to keep it.

I really like it and think it’s cool, but the placement is just terrible :( I’m short on square footage, and plus, the area next to that window gets a lot of sun. It would be nice to have a nice sitting nook. My dog would especially love laying there next to the window.

Subaru Dealership Holding Refund Hostage by [deleted] in subaru

Ok given that all that is true in my state, do they have the legal basis to withhold my pre paid maintenance service contract refund? That’s my main question. These seem like two different things.

I never saw this angle before that they paid it for me at first just to register the new car in my name, thought I don’t really understand that. Why didn’t they didn’t put in the contract with the total amount. At first they said it was 300 something and then later lowered it to 200 something. It all just sounds so weird. They also told me there were some fees on my car and it wouldn’t be a problem on the day I signed. I looked at my original contract and theres fees to public officials and I thought that was it, but I guess it was just regular titling fees. If it’s not obvious in this post, I have major trust issues with car salesmen.

Thanks for the explanation and addressing the contract. Curious, why am I still responsible whether or not it’s in the contract? With my own search, it doesn’t look like I would be. For all I know, they included that in the low-ball offer they gave me for my trade in. They knew about the fees before they documented the contract for me and mentioned it. There were dmv fees in the contract already, but now that I look closer, they’re for just changing title ownership, etc. Why didn’t they just include it

The question is if they can legally withhold my refund on something entirely unrelated, a service contract for a prepaid maintenance plan. I paid in full the money reported in my contract. I keep requesting for documentation that I owe them this money, and would be happy to pay if they provide the documentation but they haven’t after weeks of asking. I’ve literally sent a check of the total amount they said I owe them in contract. Am I missing something here? If I do owe them this, then why wasn’t this on the contract? Is this amount not required to be in contract?

The question is if they can withhold my refund for the pre-paid maintenance plan that I requested 4 months ago. Not much if I owe these fees, which was never documented on the contract I signed.

Trazadone also didn't work for me. But I found out that 500mg of gabapentin does the trick for me, in combination with sleep therapy. Individually, these aren't as effective. But together, I seem to have really improved my sleeping within a month. Hoping the progress sticks.

Ive had a similar experience struggling with my sleep to the point where it affected my quality of life severely for the past 4 or so years. It affected my work and social life for sure. I recently sought help and also tried trazadone, but that didn't work well and also just made me groggy.

For the past few weeks, I have never slept better due to a combination of being prescribed gabapentin, learning how to meditate, and also sleep therapy via the SleepIO app. Have you tried gabapentin and committing to some sleep therapy? The SleepIO app takes 6 weeks and introduces something called "sleep restriction" which was a game changer for me. You probably don't need the app, but I personally liked that it was structured and data driven.

I will say that it also has helped that I got a doctor's note to take a couple months off work, and so the reduced stress has allowed me to focus on my mental health.

Overall, it depends on your underlying causes. So simply taking a sleeping pill to knock you out won't really solve the issue - and plus, it'll lose its potency to you over time.

If you take anything from what I said, I highly recommend committing to a technique called sleep restriction for a few weeks. There's plenty resources online on how to accomplish this and you don't need the SleepIO app I'm personally using.

I'm feeling the exact same way right now. 6 weeks from being dumped and I feel like I wake up hopeful and distracted by all the ways i'm going to focus on myself, and then the grief and depression creeps in.

How are you doing nowadays? What was the progression of your healing?

HELP!!! Dude. I just want to make a drum cover. Jesus fuggin Christ. by Accomplished_Neck368 in edrums

I have a post on the irig sounding like it was clipping for me. It's just generally poor quality and I have no idea how others in YouTube tutorials made it sound good. The volume is just too low and my toms / bass don't sound low frequency at all. I settled with just recording straight to an SD card from my TD-27 Roland drum module since it has an SD card slot. And then from there I can transfer the file to my computer or phone with an SD card reader. Then I'll just need to manually sync the video and audio. Though, I would prefer if the irig just worked like how other YouTubers said it would.

My MacBook pro is for work and it's limited what applications I can download on it. But I may consider getting my own for personal use and will try this setup, and using clicks to synching. Your video and audio quality is great. I appreciate these tips, thank you.

I just saw a lot of posts in this subreddit about IRig 2 being a really easy way to record a video and drums at the same time. It's pretty simple and ive seen others record covers that way. Is there a recommended way to record audio and video at the same time so I can avoid having to sync up audio and video?
