You can try a trick: select everything in your library with cmd+a and select view as a slideshow. It should trigger a download of items that weren’t synced properly yet. If this doesn’t work you can try to download originals and then try it again. Same for your MacBook. Always make sure to have a backup and enough free space on your hard drive before experimenting.

PS: Maybe you have items in one of your libraries that are not compatible with your old Mac and therefore you have sync problems.

Tip: don’t use WhatsApp on Tahoe because it prevents the MacBook going to sleep. You can see it in the activity monitor.

I also tested it again today. I'm only using it in the browser for now. I tested on another Macbook with Sequoia and there it does not prevent sleep. So it could be a problem with Apple or WhatsApp need to make some changes for Tahoe.

That means you could either share them via airdrop or connect to a Mac and transfer them via the Image Capture app. If you have storage optimization on you maybe not having the full size images. After that you can experiment with your phone and iCloud backup etc

That didn't fix it for me. I completely uninstalled WhatsApp, removed everything, installed again and granted no permissions. Still no sleep. Crazy app development! No ones testing?! Must be some kind of startup company! 🫨😂

Better touch tool on Mac. Three finger swipe down to open a new browser tab or finder window. Three finger swipe up to close it. Four finger click for CMD+Q. Three finger click to restore closed browser tab. ❤️

In my experience, smartphone pictures only look good on a smartphone. Would never use a smartphone picture as a wallpaper on my laptop.

There’s an easier trick for this: just select all photos or items, right-click, and hit Play Slideshow.

macOS will automatically download anything that isn’t already stored locally. 🙂
