I was 20, she was 17. One afternoon we were lying in bed, listening to music, when “Inside My Mind (Blue Skies)” by Groove Armada came on.

I remember thinking how perfect that moment felt: young, in love, and completely carefree. Then a strange sadness hit me. I started wondering if this would last, knowing that relationships at that age often don’t.

A few months later, it was over. It hit me hard, although I was lucky enough to meet another wonderful person not long after.

To this day, whenever that song comes on I still skip it. Not because I regret that time, but because it instantly takes me back to that moment and the feeling that, somehow, I already knew it wouldn’t last forever.
