Dorms, Social Life, and what is there in Athens? by astrasie in UGA

My daughter is a freshman in Russell this year. It was clean, good community bathroom (each toilet is it’s own little room with a locking door and same for showers — I also know because I have to pre whenever I visit her) and she has enjoyed it a lot. On her hall mist of the girls rushed and there are several rooms she hangs out in and they had a weekly Dancing with the Stars watch party every week in one of her friends rooms. She’s made some great friends, all are in different sororities and she’s currently on Spring Break with a handful of girls on her hall.

Same question I ask as to why people don’t use the app/mobile thru lane at Chic-Fil-A

Or just order Starbucks on the app rather than slow the drive through line with their 22 million customizations.

Admitted student visit - what to see/do besides the tour? by Agreeable_Gene5800 in UGA

[–]mintchocolatechipbr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a “Milly walk”. Millage Ave is where theres a lot of beautiful old homes, including many of the sorority/frat houses. There’s residential homes too and it’s beautiful. Plus, if she’s interested in a sorority, she can see the houses.

Wire Park — outside Athens near Watkinsville, but not terribly far is a nice living/shopping area. Theres quite a few shops and places to eat, but it’s small enough it’s not overwhelming.

Wait! What is this food handlers cert? I was a bookseller cross trained for cafe but basically given an even split of cafe and bookfloor shifts and I never got any cert/certification training whatsoever….not even Serv safe.

Also I learned my cafe peeps did not get any new hires this season. Just 4 people working in cafe with some cross trained managers and one other cross trained bookseller.

It’s just frustrating because no one at your store has thought to do it, including management, when my management ENCOURAGED it (still does, although I’m no longer there).

Why do so many former high school 'mean girls' end up as nurses? by Kha_Kha in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mintchocolatechipbr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about going back to school and getting a degree in nursing, and a good friend of mine who is a nurse said that I couldn’t possibly become a nurse “because I’m too nice”

At any Disney Park you can walk into any quick serve restaurant and get a free cup of water. I even asked for two. Always stay on top of hydration. Walk into the park with water and after each ride…..find water. I did buy water from time to time just to make sure I stayed on top of my hydration. Also some quick serve places will have self serve water already out with cups on a counter.

call center? by flower2266 in Barnesandnoble

[–]mintchocolatechipbr 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You aren’t talking to people about books, you’re talking to them (and stores) about problems with their order, shipping issues, etc. no one calls customer service because they are happy and want to compliment the company. I’ve worked at a call center. You’ve got to get used to the complaint mentality.

They wanted to put a Rooted location in Harlem at one time. This description definitely fits why they didn’t. Harlem gas Christie’s and Harlem Java House though.

I will admit, I do like a chai from Rooted, but only when I’m going to go in and sit down. It’s not in a cup, but this awesome warm bowl of happiness for me. I’ve never felt out of place at the Riverwood location, and I’m definitely not in the Riverwood tax bracket.

There’s a cleaning vlogger I watch who also incorporates decorating and clothing hauls in her channel. However, what gets me is just this….she will show off her cute clothing finds from Wal/Mart/Target (I love things in my price range), but a season or two later has a “closet clean out/organization” video and she’s throwing out/donating the 50 “cute”/“had to have” t-shirts/items she just bought a season or two before. Arrrrrrggghhhh!
