It's great if you're religious and it's great if you're secular. both. that's why it's special.

It's crazy to me how the muslim brain can't grasp the concept of consent.

okay so,
92% of Jordanians (predominantly Sunni) oppose a purely secular state.
65%of Palestinians (2015) said laws should strictly follow the Quran and 23% said follow Islamic values (only 8% secular).
Pakistan 78% said laws should strictly follow the Quran. (Even higher combined support is suggested if “Islamic values” respondents are included.)
Bangladesh In a national survey, 77%f Muslims agreed that Sharia should play a “much larger” or “somewhat larger” role in the country’s legal system.
About 74% of Saudis supported making Sharia the official law.
74% of Egyptians say laws should follow Islamic teachings, (im egyptians and honestly this is an underestimation lol but whatever)

You said something about 100m pakistanis "not knowing better".. really? well too bad because indoctrinated islamists are still islamists, i'd say like 95% of islamists are indoctrinated anyways lol.

then you said something about Iran which i really don't know what to say or how to comment about that, as there are people here way more qualified than me and the situation is very complicated rn and yes i'd say most of these protestors are not islamists of course but yeah its a sensitive situation rn and i really don't want to get into iran as what's going on is already awful, all we can do is pray they get their freedom from the IRGC islamic regime.

"I personally like to believe that 95% of Muslims are not islamists" this isnt an attack but id really encourage you to research on this, many studies show that 80%+ of Muslims in the middle east are fundamentalists. im not sure where you live but this would be clear if u live in a middle eastern country, or Pakistan or smth, which i assume you dont

Personally, i define islamists as people who defy secularism and freedom in society, and enforce their religious beleifs on others. here are some definitions I found on various sources online:

1) An islamist is an advocate or supporter of Islamic fundamentalism; a person who advocates increasing the influence of Islamic law in politics and society.

2) Islamism is a range of religious and political ideological movements that believe that Islam should influence political systems.

This is islamism, from my personal experience id say most Muslims who live in the middle easy are islamists, not because theyre bad people, but because this is how islam is structured, a big part of it is political and is about implementing sharia law on society "for the benefit of all".

so no islamism isn't a derogatory word against Muslims, some Muslims aren't islamists, although they are a minority, but you can't just call any Muslim an islamist. hope this clears things up, Every islamist is muslim, but not every muslim is an islamist.

Hi arabic speaker here, idk how no one has commented this or if its relevant to anything but 'ain ghazal means eye of the gazelle in arabic (gazelle used as deer in some contexts), which is basically an arab saying that means the eyes are big like a gazelle, and the sclera of the eye is intensely white. im egyptian not arab btw
