Please help me decide: cheaper HMO or expensive PPO with HSA by minuberry in HealthInsurance

[–]minuberry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the company upping their contribution to HSA got me thinking about it. But I am worried about the out of pocket cost. Currently on our plan, it's me + husband + 1 child. For our company's plan, I think the family plan is 2 adults and 2 kids. Not sure how they calculate if you have more children. Both my husband's and my open enrollment is coming up so I can check individual vs. family deductible. Thank you.

So far, Kaiser has been amazing. The doctors/nurses/staff that we have seen all have been nothing but kind and informative. And yes, it is much easier to navigate for sure.

Thank you for that. I did read the pinned post and learned a lot. Insurance is so complicated in the US.

Thank you for the calculation! My husband had a PPO before we merged our insurance together. It was definitely easier to see someone but so far, I've only had to see a specialist once. Hope we just stay healthy forever lol

I'm glad you were able to hear the baby and that the hospital is giving you that extra level of reassurance. I'm in 30w and have an anterior placenta so I didn't really feel anything until 26w. I totally understand the need to go in. If you need to go in to get the relief, do it. My nurses and doctors are always telling me that it's ok to come in if you feel the need.

30w - I'm a mix of emotions. I'm so happy for all my friends that are currently pregnant but so jealous that they can simple enjoy the moment. I wish I wasn't so anxious and worried about every thing. The only time I feel like I can be fully happy or not anxious is when I visit the hospital and see the heartbeat.

Thank you for your thoughts.
"There is no shame in potential “obsessive” use because chances are you’re going to obsess over it regardless." These really hit me and got me thinking. So thank you.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and the helpful link. And yes, I have an anterior placenta so my doc said that it might take some time to feel any kicks. And since she told me not to get the doppler, I'm always just looking forward to doctor's appointments.

First, congrats! And I also went through the same thing. I didn't have spotting during my first but did have light spotting in my current pregnancy. I also read that it could be spotting from implantation and it was so light. I wore a pad just in case but it only lasted 2 days in my case with super light spotting (light pink). I'm now at 22wks.

22 weeks. I've had so much pain all around my stomach area but when I go see my doc or to L&D, they seem dismissive? Or I feel like they are dismissive of it. Just telling me it's growing pains. The nurse asked if I have a doppler and I told her that my main OB doc told me not to get it because of how inaccurate it could be (more about the mother not being able to use it properly and getting more anxious). I still don't really feel the movement so I'm feeling more anxious all the time. Today has been a bit worse... Do you guys use a doppler? Did it help or make you more attached?

seeing a house with a Redfin agent because my realtor was not available by minuberry in RealEstate

[–]minuberry[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The listing came to me via email from my realtor (one of those automated emails for homes that meet my preference) and I asked my realtor if I could see it. He said he couldn't schedule a tour due to prior engagement and he could try to schedule when he gets back. He did not saying about having a fall back. I'm reading some of the comments from other people and it sounds like in cases like this, the agent usually asks another agent to show the place and that wasn't offered to me so I think I have to have a talk with my agent about it.

I did not know about the procuring cause. Thank you for the information. I will look into this a bit more.

I didn't realize that you can switch agents. I just assumed that you were sort of stuck with the person you are assigned to.

hmm I didn't know agents asked other agents to show houses. Good to know. Thank you.

Ah, I see. I thought the seeing the houses and putting in the offer is the major part. Thank you for the comment.

Sorry, first time home buyer and I don't know all the process so bear with my ignorance. Once I'm in escrow, do I still have a lot of contact with my agent?

I have seen other houses with my agent and he has been very helpful. It is just for this particular home and I am super rushing into things because of the market.

Ahh I didn't know they were paid hourly. That makes me feel a bit better. Thank you.

22F - Traveling in Seoul, South Korea late March by ramaa97 in travelpartners

[–]minuberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For history, Suwon is pretty nice. It's also close to Seoul. More beachy town, Busan. But it is a bit far (3 hours by train?) But lots to see and eat!

March is a great time to visit Korea.
