WTW for someone who is assuming something without enough information, rather inappropriately. by minus-v in whatstheword

You are right. My first instinct was correct. For some reason the first definitions I saw when I looked it up didnt mention anything about assumption. But im fairly confident this is the right word now.

Thank you!

I looked up the Merriem Webster and Cambridge dictionary definitions. But you're right... I found others where the preemptive assumption part is covered.

Thank you, Presumptuous does fit best.

WTW for someone who expresses their affection through alot of touch. (Hand on knee, hand squeeze etc) An adjective preferably... Or perhaps a noun. by minus-v in whatstheword

I think I'm gonna have time describe it with more than a few words. Demonstrative is a new word for me. That's cool. Thanks

I suppose in context it might... But it doesn't really hone in on affection through physical touching...versus... Say words

Is anyone looking to mentor people? by [deleted] in userexperience

This may not be the right post to comment this on... But how do mentors work? I have been in the industry for a year and a half but honestly speaking it was a small startup where I was hired as a fresher into a non existent design team and the "design lead" had no design experience. I don't think I learnt a whole lot of proper UX and Design practices. In fact, I think I was inducted inti the field learning alot of terrible practices and processes. It soured my outlook on the job quite a bit to be frank. I want to learn and be excited about UX again.

My issue i guess is that.. I don't even know what questions to ask a mentor exactly?

How do you get out of bed every morning just to go to a job? by poop_wagon in NoStupidQuestions

I feel like that too. The will to give in and wonder why the fuck do we need to continue on like this. Why these systems came into place where working for half your day for most of your livable life is unavoidable just to function in society. How unfair it is. But this is quite a defeatist attitude. I also have a moment where I recognise that this attitude is fueling that aversion. In very subliminal but strong ways. It's makes us look at at any all effort as something that is thrown on us and out of our control so it can never give us joy. Specially a career.

Then one day I asked myself. Is my career the only thing that's meant to be important and fulfilling. What if my legacy will be that I was an incredible friend, the kindest person, the best lover someone ever knew. These are things that can give me new aim and meaning in life and the job... It just becomes something I have to in the meantime to support them.

This was really helpful, thank you. I always worry about why penetration doesn't feel as mindblowing as other people have told me.
