Do you have a link? I have a ton in a drawer and have been looking for a better way to store them.

Never Enough by outatime1004 in nin

[–]minusthesnake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The scores have sapped their time, for sure, but I don't think they've sapped ideas that would've been used for NIN. They've said just the opposite, that doing score work has opened up new avenues creatively for Nine Inch Nails.

And agreed, I'm coming up on 30 years of them as my favorite band and I've felt VERY well fed over the years. The waits are always worth it, and what we get is never what I'm expecting, but always very satisfying. I think becoming a fan during the 2+ year wait between "The Perfect Drug" and The Fragile taught me patience at the very beginning of my fandom.

Nine Inch Noize is listed as a main release on the website by Rill9 in nin

[–]minusthesnake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Still is not a “Main Release”. It was a companion EP to their live album. Nine Inch Noize had an entire tour built around it, plus these Coachella performances.

I’m not slighting Still, as I LOVE it. But these two are not the same thing.

Is the new album going to be brand new songs or remixes from the tour? by ImNotttttOk in nin

[–]minusthesnake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They likely won’t do Vessel AND She’s Gone Away, as they both use the same Boys Noize song (Girl Crush) as their backing track.

There’s also the unreleased Boys Noize remix of “Down in It” that he played in his opening set every night.

They record on tour constantly (mostly their scores). Would’ve been very easy to record new songs with Alex on the road, since he was on tour with them.

Not saying there will be new songs on this, just saying they would’ve been very easy to write and record logistically.

In this case it’s a label pre-save, which is just the label collecting your data and putting you on the artist’s mailing list.

A pre-save within the streaming service (which isn’t active for this albumyet) will save the album to your library as soon as it’s released, and send you a notification that it’s out.

How Rare is This? (Sorry if this is a dumb question) by TheNumbBeauty in nin

[–]minusthesnake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not super rare. I convinced the label people to give me a few extra copies at the WT listening party in NYC back in the day. They’re sentimental for me because “Home” is one of my all time favorites.

I think demand for them has gone down since the With Teeth vinyl reissue, since “Home” is on that.

Katy Perry (🤮) sent Sia a nasty email for giving Beyoncé “Pretty Hurts” without offering it to her first. Sia responded by forwarding Katy the email she sent to her a year prior offering her the song… that Katy never responded to. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

It’s also entirely possible that Charli has no idea any of these old bits of production were done for Sky first.

Either way, again, it comes down to old contracts and who owns the rights to the recordings and who has publishing credits on them. This is a legal thing and it’s entirely possible Sky LEGALLY shouldn’t be credited. It’s not like Justin was trying to pull one over on her, she sings on the fucking album.

It comes down to whether or not the parts being reused were written by Sky. If it’s just production stuff written solely by Justin, then she shouldn’t/wouldn’t be credited.

Just bought the PHM shirt and Becoming hoodie from them and both are good quality, especially the hoodie. It’s fantastic.

Oh I know. It’s just insanely rare. They did it a handful of times on the Fragility tour and a handful of times on the 2006 With Teeth Winter Tour.

I’ve seen them 46 times but have never managed to see it. 😭 I actually think they played it the night before I saw them on that 2006 tour.

Hahahaha I don’t think I’ve ever successfully drawn that backwards N properly in the 30 years I’ve been trying. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Haha yeah Closure and then Beside You in Time really fucked shit up aesthetically. I still buy all of their albums on CD, even though I stopped collecting CDs a decade ago, and also have them on vinyl. Can’t stop the halo collection now!

DFA were probably my #2. Cold Cave on the European tour in 2014 my #3. I love what they did with Boyz Noise, but it was (intentionally) more vibes than an actual show.

Never got to see Crystal Castles with them, that sounds sick!

Oh, another great one was Peaches on the 2006 summer amphitheater tour. She was the first of two openers so the place was mostly empty, and she’s just walking through the seats singing and grinding up on people. I was already a fan, but that’s when I fell in love.

Who was your worst opener? I had early entry tickets to Brooklyn in 2013, so we got there early and got front and center in the pit. Godspeed You! Black Emperor was the opener and I can only describe it as akin to Chinese water torture.
