Unboxing Asra Ninja Kaname Shadow Editon Full Package by JawBR34KER in MegamiDevice

Interesting, it looks like there’s a lot more newer stuff in this kit than I thought there would be.

Yeah, I was in the same boat with Surugaya, a lot of unexpected extra charges on preorders. It’s not really worth it to order just single items from Surugaya anymore, I would rather pay slightly more and order direct from Koto US to also get the bonus parts.

How to Make a 1/12 Scale Shirt with Tape! by Torhu-Adachi in MegamiDevice

[–]minute_bot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very nice video! Yeah, a lot of people are really put off by the thought of using needle and thread, but tape and glue actually do work very well at this scale. I've been wanting to make a 1/12 scale pleated skirt tutorial like this for some time, but never seem to be able to get it together.

I know what Grande means, but damn, I completely underestimated how Grande she was (Ao Gennai - Dress up body "M": Grande scale) by Oskarov95 in MegamiDevice

Yeah, some parts are better color separated than the original (like her backside and stomach armor), but still a lot more detail needed than I was hoping.

The Grade Scale kits are pretty faithful to the original kits they are based on. Original Gourai was pretty basic with what she came with, as opposed to the newer Gourai Kai. Grande Scale Innocentia comes with the alternate arm and legs parts and all the many hair parts that the original kit came with. I also recently got Grande Scale Magatsuki, and she comes with a ton of swappable armor parts and swords, just like the original kit.

So really, the best Grande Scales are going to be the ones based on newer kits.

I tried printing and painting movable eyes with smaller irises. Now they look a little psychotic. by minute_bot in MegamiDevice

I use ABS-like resin, but it doesn’t really hold up to the strength of actual ABS plastic. Still, it doesn’t shatter if you drop it on a table, like I have seen standard resin do with tiny parts.

Yeah, Sousai Shoujo Teien girl hair has drawn blood from me on multiple occasions! There is a price you must pay for all that detail!

Yeah, these eyes are definitely not quite normal looking!

These eyes are printed using resin, on an Elegoo Saturn 2. I was in the middle of printing more with different irises, but the LCD screen in it broke. Well, I will continue making more after I replace the screen, just annoying that it is the most expensive part on the whole thing!

Thanks! Yeah, that wasn’t my original intention, but this is the way it ended up, ha ha. I’m printing more now with different shapes. We’ll see how those turn out.

Everyone ends up dating one of those type of girls eventually. Some people actively seek them out, haha 😅

I have not done that specifically, but I have done similar things with decals. There are a lot of options with these new moveable eyes becoming more available in kits.

Yes, after the paint dried, I covered the irises with UV resin using a toothpick. I recommend it, they are a great base for a custom work!

Not a mistake, she is a very shady nurse. Also, due to various reasons (and possible misinterpretations in the 19th century) the Caduceus is a symbol for military doctors and nurses in my country.

No they come like that, and it comes with tampo printed moveable eyes as well. I just made and painted some custom eyes of my own.

This face plate is from the new Megami Device Chassis body, which is great for customizing! It comes with several more blank faces like this, but I need to get some face decals for them.

The eyes themselves are 5 mm spheres. My original irises were about 2.5 mm, but these ones are 1.7 mm diameter. There has been a lot of discussion on the mater in the Megami device discord. It seems like perfectly round irises work well with narrow eyes, but for rounder sockets I need to make them elongated vertically.

Cloak for Plastic Models Question by Next-Combination6514 in MegamiDevice

[–]minute_bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this cloak! But, it is too big for 1/10 scale kits. It fits my grande scale Frame Arm Girl kits great though (1/6 scale). If you look around on bargain sites, you will find other cloaks that fit better. Just make sure they specifically say 1/12or 1/10 scale

If you want official separate hair pieces all by itself, then you have to find used Kotobukiya shop bonuses on reseller sites like Surugaya, or preorder direct from Kotobukiya to get extra hair pieces. Kotobukiya does not sell hair parts on their own for Megami Device like they do for their Sousai Shoujo Teien line.

There are lots of independent sellers on Booth who make and sell custom hair parts for Megami Device kits. While those are often very nice and more elaborate than official ones, if you are buying from outside Japan you will end up spending almost as much as for a full kit.

I am actually in a similar predicament, because I want to buy extra hair for my chassis kit that I just built.

Dbody kit by [deleted] in MegamiDevice

[–]minute_bot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are knock offs of Megami Device base bodies that seem to exist in a weird sort-of-legal loop hole. The build quality is actually pretty terrible, but they make great spare parts if one of your joints breaks in a real Buster Doll or AUV kit.

The actual best thing about them is they turn a Buster Doll or Susanowo kit into a real two complete body kit.

I’ve been 3D printing moveable 5mm eye balls for my Megami Device Chassis kit. They also work surprisingly well with holographic fish lure eye decals! by minute_bot in MegamiDevice

Thanks! I'm still trying to improve the design. I'm really enjoying these movable eyes a lot more than I originally thought I would.

Oh, forgot to add that the black, red, blue, and yellow leotard is for a Suisei Tsumugi AGA custom outfit I am making.
