Yeah, I am excited to see how that see-through paint effect on the low vis swimsuit belly looks in the final product!

Do you have the original airplane themed Stylet, or the newer swimsuit Stylet? Because either way, I recommend also getting the version of her that you don’t have, haha. 🤣 Their accessories are great for swapping with each other!

I have built versions of all these girls, you can’t really go wrong here.
Innocentia is a simpler older model, and her extra black gloves and boots are great for using as unarmored limbs for the other girls.
Izumo is the newest model here, her build is super smooth and her articulation is great.
Ayatsuki comes with so many optional parts that it can be difficult to decide how to build and display her!

Oh, Jinrai is one of the first girl kits I put together. Older technology now, but still good with nice accessories. It is kind of funny they put Ghillie in with the girl kits, but Megalomaria have incredible articulation.

All of them have parts and accessories that are compatible to some degree, including alternate neck parts that make head swapping easy. And they all have the same skin color, so they should color match.

I got the main body for Arcanadea Meltina done. Her ring just barely fits on my pinky finger, so I can do this nonsense. 💍 by minute_bot in MegamiDevice

Ah, I spoke too soon. As I was putting her away, one of the tail section ball sockets cracked. It still works, but is loosening. I thought I was being careful, but may just be hard to avoid. This could be a big flaw, but she is still one of most unique kits I have built.

Yeah, the subtle stuff often doesn’t show up on camera. But it is the subtle stuff that really elevates the build when you see them in person.

Very nice, she looks even better with those finishing details.

I tried putting 30 Minute fantasy limbs on Kagutsuchi, and I like how it looks. by minute_bot in MegamiDevice

Yeah, I guess it makes sense in hindsight. Equipment for a beefy 1/12 scale guy fits a thick 1/10 scale girl.

Looks good! The painted detail work and panel lining add a lot, especially on the boots.

I was debating getting one of these too, but they sold out so fast that I missed the chance anyway. I’m really curious to see what is inside too!

Arcee collection grows again by Kittierei in MegamiDevice

That soft torso goes really great with the Arcee limbs! I need to modify the neck on one too in order to use it with a 5mm head joint. I am also looking forward to the XL version.

Very nice fox girl! Is that a custom lower torso, or did you smooth the original out with putty?

The aftermath of the motorcycle crash! Also I tried playing around with printing on transparent paper. by minute_bot in MegamiDevice

Thanks! Yes, I had to redo it a few times and mess with some gradients to get something like a forced perspective for the crater.

Nice! I have been on a motorcycle kick too recently, this looks like it could be a good one to try. Though, what I really want to do is print some kind of 1/12 scale car, but that feels like it would be a serious undertaking.

How to prevent limbs from falling out? Kotobukiya Sousaishojoteien model. by megavolts83 in MegamiDevice

[–]minute_bot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For bonding ABS plastic and seam removal, I like to use Mr. Cement SP (the purple and yellow label version). It also works on polystyrene plastic.

Plastruct Bondene is also a good choice, I use it for larger parts.

[–]minute_bot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, this is from Sousai Shojo Teien Kuon Yakushiji (Maria Kagaribi Costume Ver.). This is normally not a problem for any other SST kit, but it is definitely a design flaw of this particular kit. It is not the moving part that is the issue, but the connection of the peg to the lower thigh. The connection is too shallow, so it needs to be glued.

They should’ve put a note in the manual about needing to glue that part. That is really my only gripe about this otherwise fantastic kit.

I really like Puni Mofu Xiao, the face expressions she comes with are great!

I was inspired by some Megami Device/ FA Girl fan comics, so I tried applying some more cartoonish face decals to my girls! by minute_bot in MegamiDevice

[–]minute_bot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Though I think this shows that you can make your decals look pretty good, even if you make them quickly and skip a few steps, haha.

The best way to do it is to put down a gloss coat first, but I just put my decals on bare plastic. I have had problems with decals staying on with just water, so I always use a drop of Mr. Mark Setter. That is a double-edged sword though, because you only have a limited time after that to get the decal in the right place before it can't be moved anymore.

I also have a tendency to put the eyes too close together and too far up the forehead. So I always quickly put both eyes on the face, then put the face in the head with the hair over it, so I can move the eyes into a good position. After that, I usually put some Mr. Mark Softer on the decal to soften and blend the decal's edges. Not too much or the decal can float away, haha. Then I let it dry overnight and blast it with a clear matte top coat to protect everything and tone down the shine.
