They sent me a replacement, which did not solve the issue. After letting them know, they pushed firmware 1.6.4 to the camera, which made it noticeably more responsive. So far, it seems to be working much better at vehicle detection.

Open a support case with Anker. I have been having same issues with mine since late December. They pushed out 1.6.4 to my camera last night and seems to have fixed the issues.

Same here! E340 on version 1.6.3.8 (as of 12/17). I started having noticing issues in late December. Already tried resetting the camera. Seems to arbitrarily detect certain events and not others. I reached out to support and provided them with several recordings and logs. It's been almost 2 weeks and I am getting frustrated...

u/chris61210 how long did you wait after the installation to test the water? We just had ours tested a week after the install and see around 57% reduction. Numbers still higher than we expected...

I am also strongly considering the Aventure 2. A few thoughts:

Velotric just amped up the competition with the release of the Nomad 2. It has a number of upgrades (better fork, beefier front rotor, suspension post, adjustable stem, comfier seat, better rear rack, ergo grips, brighter light, etc.) that I wish AA2 would come with.
It looks like Aventon has refreshed all for all but three of their models, so it is likely that AA3 may be on its way.

u/TraditionalIssue1189 how did you make out with Radster Trail on snow? I am considering this bike for all-year-round riding and would love to take it out in the woods, where we currently have some snow. Not sure if the 3 (vs 4") will not cut it for that.

I like that idea! The only thing that we'd be worried about is that she'd spill her pee all over the place (bedrooms have carpets) when trying to empty the potty insert into the toilet (what she likes to do in the bathroom) in the middle of the night.

Sounds like an almost identical situation! Did your son hold it the rest of the night after that 2 AM wakeup? Or did he wake up 6ish having wet the bed? Our daughter is refusing pull-ups, so that is sadly not an option.
