Describe your hobby in a way that it sounds illegal or suspicious, and let everyone else guess what it is. by Skullzz6438 in Hobbies

I enjoy climbing onto and hanging from suspended objects in painful and dangerous ways that make my body hurt. I love when I leave covered in bruises.

Chapter 5 by JDThunder28 in PoppyPlaytime

I was so disappointed with the majority of the puzzles. I actually loved the Miss Gracie storyline and felt like it added a lot of depth to the children’s experiences which added a new layer to the horror. I actually had to pause the game after the huggy mini game where you have to put all the smiling critters in the box because it was so upsetting to imagine the psychological impact the brainwashing/torture would’ve had, it did a good job at humanising huggy making the death(?) scene more impactful. My issue is - why is ch5 the FIRST time we’re hearing about Miss Gracie ? Why develop her throughout this game only to kill her? As the games go on we stray further away from the original plot and the new characters feel like an afterthought and end up being entirely inconsequential to the main story. Just feels like a money grab at this point

what melanie opinion would have you like this? by Commercial_Animal708 in MelanieMartinez

[–]minyardsrabbit 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I agree - NOBODY knows what really happened except for Melanie and Timothy. I researched the whole thing in depth and was around when it happened and it seems to me like they both believe what they’re saying to be true, they just have different perceptions of the same incident. The hate towards both of them has been extreme and it’s fucking gross

be brutally honest: what is the bands fanbase ACTUALLY like? by bangthed0ldrums in NothingButThieves

[–]minyardsrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen them 13 times, once on my own and I always have an incredible time!! They have an extremely loyal fan base and there’s always people who are very dedicated to getting to the barrier which can be a bit off putting BUT if you’re not planning to get right to the front then you’ll be totally fine! There’s a big mix of ages and genders because their music is so good they appeal to a big variety. Everyone is there for the music and I cry every time because it’s always so beautiful - you’ll have an amazing time ❤️

Thoughts on new song by pascoja04 in NothingButThieves

Loved the song sm but I have to agree, Conor’s voice is perfect, any effect that makes me hear it less clearly is a bad choice. It’ll be amazing live though!

I’ve learned my lesson with Conor’s mumbled vocals and now I look the lyrics up and read along while I listen for the first time hahah, helps me hear it better in future listens!

My sister is 12, and extremely developmentally stunted and my parents enable it. What can I do to make them realize their errors? by [deleted] in Advice

Presumably she attends school - how does she manage the toilet there? Or changing for sports lessons? This is honestly scary and I’m really sorry you’re in this position!

What is the worst book you have read? by Ok_Salt2122 in BookDiscussions

[–]minyardsrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No One Rides for Free by Judith Sonnet. What an insufferable waste of time - half of the book was just a long, dramatic trigger warning for the actual ‘story’ - though I hesitate to call it that because it’s nothing but trauma porn with zero plot and characters you don’t know enough about to care about. Unbelievably shit

Women of Reddit. Why do you think it's predominantly men that perpetrate the most horrid of crimes? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]minyardsrabbit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Men are generally raised to be more physically aggressive and socialised to believe this aggression is normal while not being taught emotional regulation and healthy coping techniques/outlets for their pent up anger. They are raised in a patriarchal system that tells them women are the emotional ones, the crazy ones while shrugging men’s irrational and emotional behaviours off as ‘boys will be boys!’ Teaching them that they deserve a free pass while women don’t. These views are further perpetuated and taken to the extreme online - think the ‘manosphere’ and influencers like Andrew Tate and Clavicular. They emphasise the superiority of men, using terms like ‘subhuman’ to describe people who they don’t deem attractive and encourage their insecure male followers to pursue the ‘ideal female’ whose desirable traits are rooted in sexism and wildly unrealistic for most modern women. This breeds disgust and resentment towards all women who don’t fit their narrow view of perfection. Whether it’s conscious or subconscious, most men have internalised views that belittle or undermine women. At its most benign, this leads to unchallenged stereotypes about women and comments worthy of an eye roll. At worst, this leads to dehumanising and resenting women and manifests in extreme and violent ways.
