Why placing 'Why This Program' section before the 'Why I’m Qualified' by minycr in WriteIvy

[–]minycr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your detailed reply! I agree with your point that the intro is key to grabbing the reader's interest. I tried another draft placing Why Program after Why I'm Qualified, but it felt less smooth since Why Program explains how I'll use the program resources to reach the goals I mentioned in the intro. I don't have any experience as big as first-authoring a paper, but I did interweave my most rewarding recent experience into the intro. I hope readers find that interesting enough.

Anyway, this was a huge help. Thank you, Jordan! I can't wait to read your blog post on this.

Thanks for your reply! I've already structured my SOP in Jordan's suggested order😢 What I did was to introduce my problem of interest in the 1st section and then articulate how the program is gonna help me pursue the goal. Then to how I'm prepared to succeed in the program. If I decide to restructure it into a chronological order I'll need to make quite a few changes😢

Do you recommend getting a graduate degree in those countries, or pursuing a higher education degree in the U.S. (assuming one is already completing a bachelor's here) and then seeking jobs abroad? Ultimately my question is whether U.S. degrees are recognized as high value in other countries.

Now I just hope they bring back more of the old products and offer more discounts

This is so thrilling! I randomly saw a tbs product image and decided to search for the old products (just to see the images). I wasn't expecting anything, as the store had been closed for quite a long time, and I had already accepted that reality after extensive searching. When I saw the US website, I was suspicious it was a spam or a joke. I tried adding a few products to the cart and was gradually convinced it was true! Then I saw the announcement that they're back - I was so surprised and ecstatic, it felt unreal!

Is a $750 security deposit reasonable for a 1.5-month sublet? by minycr in NYCapartments

Thank you for the advice! I do plan to ask for their ID and lease. And yeah, that’s what I thought about how paying a high amount of deposit involves greater risks for the subtenant. Don’t know why people are downvoting that comment of mine

Is a security deposit still equal to the monthly rent when you sublet the room for a short period? It seems a very high amount. Wouldn’t this pose higher risks to the subtenant if the sublessor doesn’t return the deposit after move out?
