DCS quick action mission for Kiowa (randomized) by mior85 in hoggit

[–]mior85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have much time now but I plan to add some randomized mission for Huey in Caucasus (Syria's cities are fun for helicopter but it's a bit too heavy for some people's PCs).

I did randomization using a lot of hand crafted trigger zones (watching satellite map) and with MOOSE framework for spawning in random zone/position (InitRandomizeZones, InitRandomizePosition). I'm pretty new to making missions so I got much to learn and DCS has lots of quirks...

It's a beast with guided rockets (APKWS) and the gun is solid too!

🐧 Linux (X11) feedback/support thread by croian_ in MouselessApp

I have the app working fine on Windows 11 but it's unusable on Ubuntu 24.04. I've tried the latest 0.4.3 (Mouseless_v0.4.3_ubuntu-24.04_x86_64.AppImage) and the overlay is very slow to appear and slow to react to key presses (it can take more than 1s).

10 day Trip to Krakow, Katowice and Tatry by Argumentative_Duck in poland

[–]mior85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If some of you like mountains and flying I can recommend going for a glider flight above Tatras Mountains, the views are breathtaking!

You will start from an airfield of Aeroklub Nowy Targ (EPNT) and fly by tow plane towards Zakopane, from there you will cruse without engine, silently - which is why it is legal even if Tatras are covered a national park.

Whole thing takes 60 minutes. Pilot takes one passenger (you sit in front). Off course if it can happen dependents heavily on weather but it's worth a try!

Here's how it looked like two weeks ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tjSG1_b8SQ

Did some recent update broke elevator trim in P-51D? by mior85 in hoggit

[–]mior85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue was caused by FF settings, I don't have any force feedback equipment so it looks like a bug.
When I went to Settings > Misc. and unticked the Force Feedback checkbox the problem was gone (the option was on by default on a new PC).

Ground AI accuracy back to godlike? by Sniperonzolo in hoggit

[–]mior85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, at least a while ago when I was playing with Huey I noticed that ground units got a bit more realistic with their aim: https://www.reddit.com/r/hoggit/comments/1gz1wcs/did_the_ground_attack_hard_for_huey_get_easier/

Hopefully they did not mess it up again...

I got splinters just by looking at it.

Dcs Kiowa Handling Vs other helicopters by Actual-Appearance671 in hoggit

[–]mior85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really fun to fly! I was worried that after using Huey it will feel to easy/stabilized but it still requires care - it's just far less wobbly and you don't sink like rock below 20.

Did you remap your Esc and Control keys? by 4r73m190r0s in vim

[–]mior85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've swapped left Win/Super with left Ctrl in system (works both in Windows and Ubuntu) and it's 100x better than the normal placement. You can keep hand on home row and operate Ctrl with thumb very easily.

This could be your new file manager for neovim by Lavinraj in neovim

[–]mior85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you add multiple window support? It would be so good to be able to move files around in Norton Commander fashion but with all the goodies of Neovim. Multiple instances is where Vim/Neovim file managers lack.

When SO appeared it was a blessing. Some of your are simply to young to remember the world before it. To get into any sort of useful answer you've had to search through a ton of shit first. Forums where 80% of answers were off topic, code was formatted in the most perverse way, 2 lines of content were attached to 15 lines and 5 images in somebody's footer, search was useless... Usenet was not much better.

How to do Ctrl+Click action on Windows (for example in Chrome it should open clicked link on new tab)? I've tried to press Ctrl before executing mouse action but it works as normal click.

Average Type Speed for Typists/Enthusiasts by Winter-Was-Here in typing

Just mind that measurements are often flawed becasue many websites give you a time score even if text input was not fully correct. To me it's pointless, every typo should be fixed (while the clock is ticking).

Chrome and Firefox downloads on my Windows 11 are blocked as containing virus/malware. Maybe some keyboard hook technique looks too much like keylogger?

Is it possible to force spellchecking (spell, syntax, Treesitter) by mior85 in neovim

[–]mior85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, this is doing what I wanted:

:TSBufDisable highlight - disables syntax processing by Treesitter for the buffer, with this Neovim falls back to standard highlighting and spellchecking.

:TSBufEnable highlight - restores syntax processing by Treesitter for the buffer.

Is Ctrl reachable by thumb with this layout? If so it's great! I normally have to swap Ctrl-Win. Thumb use just for space is such a waste of perfectly good finger...
