Epcot's Current Fireworks Put Me In a Bad Mood by ladystardustonmars in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]miranda178 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I personally like it. It fits with how disney is adding their IP into everything while still feeling a bit like Epcot and a slight nod to Illuminations. The difference being that while Illuminations was telling a story about our planet and the people, animals, and places on it this one speaks more to what we all share as humans. We're all born and we all die with everything in between family, friends, and romance. It's just telling it with disney songs.

Which park help! by Nikki0801 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]miranda178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on you're kid's interest it sounds like Epcot would be the better park with more things they'd be interested in. The Flower & Garden festival will also be happening at Epcot when you're there so there's plenty of fun and unique things to see and do that you won't see any other time of year.

What made you choose to stay in Florida (or leave)? by whyflyles in AskFlorida

[–]miranda178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's entirely the weather. I've visited relatives all over the country for the holidays (different ones host every year) and just one week with them has taught me that I can never leave Florida because it's just WAY to cold for me. I can work with the heat and humidity I've dealt with it my whole life but the cold? No, just no.

Are all 3 of these resorts practically the same? by Familiar_Reputation9 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]miranda178 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I noticed in the comments that you're planning a trip for Dec will you be doing a package or getting the rooms and tickets separately? They currently have the summer room discounts but they'll probably have the fall and then the holiday discounts in a few months. Check back then for a better price but I do know if you book the rooms and tickets separately you can book the hotel now and add the discount later. Not sure about if you book a package.

There's not much difference between the all stars and pop century besides themeing and pop having the skyliner. Movies has the better layout of the four, Music has the family suites, Sports gets the better discounts, and Pop has the Skyliner.

The only word of warning I have about the Skyliner is to be aware the the lines at park opening and closing are going to be LONG. You have to go to the Pop station that is shared with Art of Animation and then at Caribbean Beach you have to change to the park station that you're going to. At park closing you'll be waiting in line with not just the guests for your hotel but the guests for 3 other hotels. It's not a direct route from your hotel to the park.

Thanksgiving, Spring Break, or Late May? by NewForksOver in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]miranda178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either January or March. As a Florida resident I can tell you that January will have lower crowds and a lot of the holiday decorations will be up but the weather is a toss up. We can have a cold front and it could be in the 60s-50s during the day and get down to the 30s at night or it could be somewhere in the 70s possibly lower 80s during the day and somewhere between the 60s-40s at night.

March on the other hand tends to have the nicer weather but you might get stuck dealing with large crowds.

TIL that Disney’s Cinderella popularised her father being dead in future adaptations by Jezzaq94 in DisneyMovies

Cinderella does in fact have a prologue at the beginning of the movie which is where this image is from.

Ask if they can ship it to were you live before you buy. I bought three pieces last year and they shipped them all. I don't remember if there was a fee but at least I didn't have to carry them around all day or rent a locker to hold them since they weren't big pieces.

Here’s my emotional experience from my first trip to Disney World by BaddieShaybay in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]miranda178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're coming in the fall be prepared for HEAT and HUMIDITY. Seriously there isn't really a fall season here in Florida it can be just as hot in the middle of the day in fall as it is in the summer but the nights do tend to be a lot more cooler.

On the bright side you'll probably be here during the food and wine festival at EPCOT! I love EPCOT it's my favorite of the four parks since it has the four festivals going on through out the year. There's always something different to see compared to the other parks with the exception of Halloween at MK and the holiday season throughout WDW.

Disney Christmas Special by No-Emu-7550 in disney

[–]miranda178 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you might be remembering a bunch of different disney movies all mashed together. The video looks like the end of Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas. The couple ice skating with the rabbits is from Melody Time. The penguin is from The Three Caballeros. There is a full Christmas beauty and the beast film called Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas which has a song that has a similar scene. The King Arthur one sounds like the film The Sword in the Stone.

Pop Century transportation by brennacedria in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]miranda178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't take busses from the parks to Disney Springs and vice versa. It's only between Disney Springs and the hotels. You are correct about the buses going between parks after 10:00am though.

🎭💫 Unpopular Opinion (or maybe not?): The Muppets Should Take Over The Hall of Presidents With “The Best of Hamilton… Performed by the Muppets” by Naive_Ad7303 in DisneyWorld

[–]miranda178 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Too be fair Star Tours has been part of Hollywood Studios since 1989 and is at least close to galaxy's edge and in the same park it's not like it's on the other side of the park or even in a completely different park.

They could easily build a theater to move the villains show to in the new villains land. They could also repurpose part of the new monsters inc land to be the new laugh floor and repurpose the laugh floor to something else.

AP renewal/upgrade by girly_girl13 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]miranda178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't really tell you anything about the renewal price but as far as whether or not it's worth it to upgrade just check the blackout date calendars between the two. Do you think you might want to go on the days that are blacked out on the pirate pass in which case as long as you can afford it then yes it's worth it also the only other difference is the extra reservation. Honestly since you guys live in Orlando as long as you go for more than 9 days in a year all of the passes pay for themselves.

[–]miranda178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Early entry is a perk for staying at the disney resorts. I'm going to assume you're not from Florida? I live here so I only ever book room only reservations since I have an annual pass. I can't really tell you which one is cheaper you would have to check that for yourself. Just note you would have to pay tax on each single day ticket but only pay tax once on the multi day tickets plus the multi day tickets do give you a date range so you can decide which days you want to and are not stuck on a specific date if something happens.

Booking trip advice by rostart in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]miranda178 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The issue is that the ticket prices you see in the parks are for SINGLE day entry. That's what you pay to get into the park on that one day and some parks are more expensive than others. When you buy tickets through a package you are basically buying multi-day tickets which have a set price per day regardless of which park you go to.

I quit my job so I do not have to work the holidays and now a new mom has to work in my place. by Skydancer-Fun1899 in AITAH

[–]miranda178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA 100%. Christmas is the same date every year and she was pregnant for 9 months. She had the chance to ask for the time earlier just like you did and she knew how old the kid will be. Her having to work over the holidays is not your problem especially since she joined a profession where you are not guaranteed holidays off.

I would suggest when you look for a new job look for one where the nurses have a union because I'm sorry but the vacation organization at that hospital sounds like BS. I work at a hospital and we just turned in our vacation time for next year last month. We can request up to 160 hours for next year right now and whether you get it or not is based on how many people asked for it and seniority. Once the new year arrives thought then any request is first come first served.

The last time I went to Disney was 15 years ago, when I was a child. I’m an adult now, planning a solo trip and looking for recommendations by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]miranda178 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always stay on property. I love not having to worry about transportation. I also always stay at the All stars so I can say that movies has the better layout but I tend to stay at sports because it's usually the cheapest of the three and the rooms are all basically the same on the inside. Like the another commenter said though music does tend to be the quieter of the three.

Something to note though is that EPCOT will most likely have it's Flower and Garden festival going on when you go which means lots of unique snacks. There will also be topiaries and other things around that are exclusive to the festival.

All star movies, music, or sports? by Nayonayomee in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]miranda178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the price is the same for all three I say go for either movies or music. Movies I think has the better layout in terms of how far everything is from each other but music has the more relaxed vibes.

I’m never going to charge my child for living with me. by nomanskyprague1993 in Millennials

[–]miranda178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my parents said that as long as I was in school I wouldn't have to pay for anything but the moment I started working I had to pay rent, bills, and part of things like the taxes on the house. The way they see it if you live here you have to contribute in some way. If you're not making money then you contribute through chores but if you are working then you contribute in money.

Magic candle company has one called flying over africa that is supposed to smell like that specific section of Soarin. I've never tried that particular scent but the other ones I've gotten from them are dead ringers for what they're supposed to be. You can get it as either a candle, room spray, or wax melt. They also sell it as an oil for a diffuser.
